    “Irish Movie is amazing” time!

First beautiful of the day, quickly followed by the second.

    No peculiar yet though.

Man who says never judge a book by its cover gave up on acclaimed tv show after one episode. Intriguing.

    A book sorbet.

Hilary Clinton mention - Tubs, Hils and a Canadian author had “great fun”. . Nancy Pelosi mention will be along shortly no doubt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

I would have thought Tubs would be able to pronounce “croissant” correctly. Apparently not. Peculiar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

“THEY” and “THEM” have joined “THAT” in the overemphasized pronunciation club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Tubs acknowledging that “the staff” just give him stuff to read out for the riffin’ section.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Tubs admits he has difficulty making small talk.

    I am shocked. Not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

    Trump impression.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

multi-millionaire tax avoider gushes about the schmaltz and life lessons in “It’s A Wonderful Life”. If only the Hutchs and Kinihans had seen it as children.

    Jimmy Stewart impression.

I'll be in Lapland tomorrow and for the rest of the week so to speak so I'll just type the next few days commentary in advance:

    Definites:

    1. Toy Show mention
    2. Trump impression
    3. Beautiful
    4. Gorgeous
    5. Peculiar
    6. Intriguing
    7. Bonkers
    8. Casual mention of a freebie or two
    9. Something Irish (most likely "a movie, or 'fillum' as we say here") is AMAZING
    10. Overemphasized THATs
    11. Macca/Beatles
    12. Books
    13. Something American
    14. Some woke/right on comment that he likely doesn't believe but is saying it to tow the RTE line
    15. Death
    16. Cancer
    17. Misery
    18. Not so subtle humblebragging
    19. A comment on how tired he's been since the Toy Show OR how hard he has to work for the rest of the year (last show of the year is on the 23rd btw for those of you who will return to work before the New Year)
    20. Praise for RTE programme
    21. Praise for RTE "colleague"
    22. Anthony Horowitz
    23. Mention of "a friend of the show"
    24. Mention of "a Late Late Show alumnus"
    25. Competition winner will live in South Co. Dublin and if their surname is read out it will likely COINCIDENTALLY be that of an RTE staffer
    26. If the competition contestant does not belong to the cohort in point 27 above, then he or she will likely be laughed at or mocked by the host at some stage
    27. Tall tales
    28. InstaTubridy promotion via not so subtle "casual" mention
    29. Article/Puff piece in one or more of the usual rags by 10:30am commenting on how amazing Ryan was this morning telling the story of X
    30. List of Late Late Show guests for Friday and describing them as "good eggs" or “great fun”
    31. Casual mention that he brought Henry Street to a standstill when he does the show from Arnotts and that childrens’ jaws dropped and their eyes almost popped out of their heads at the sight of The Toyman

    Possibles:

    1. Describing a non-food item as delicious
    2. Overemphasized THEYs and THEMs
    3. Nancy Pelosi mention
    4. Hilary Clinton mention
    5. A World Cup comment delivered as if he actually watched it
    6. Phonetic delivery of "modder-in"
    7. Phonetic delivery of "childer-din"
    8. A list of Ryan's f avourite boardgames
    9. Jigsaws
    10. "Messers"
    11. Sad text from someone in tears listening to Ryan tell a tale, most likely a 6'4" tattooed rugby playing truck driving man who has never cried before and had to pull in off the motorway to cry
    12. Happy text from someone dancing around the kitchen table and praising Ryan on his choice of music - which he has admitted that he has no hand, act, or part in selecting but that never stops him taking the praise and credit for the selection anyway
    13. "It's a Wonderful Life" mention - I'd normally have this as a definite in December, but he did mention it today so it's relegated to the Possibles for the rest of the week
    14. Interview with Ryan's "favourite author" - note: there seems to be about a dozen or more of these
    15. "Don't Worry Darling" came out on DVD and Blu Ray this week, so that'll possibly get mentioned when the free copy lands on his desk

    That should do it.

If I had time I'd make a Bingo Card, but unfortunately I am otherwise occupied.

And asking a 12 week old baby if he enjoyed the Toy Show

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,748 ✭✭✭Pelvis Parsley

    The Boy in the Bubble.

He seems distinctly hyper and ill at ease with having to talk to the public in Arnott's.

Yeah, that must have been some sugary treat he had at Ann's 😬 Too much nervous energy for me at this hour of the day, over to Pat and the whinging about teachers' career breaks...

Same as first time to listen in a while, not so humble bragging, how the toyman has visited arnotts, he couldn't think anymore of himself 🤢

very unfunny ladies on at the moment, can't understand their popularity from a woman's point of view. I mustn't be their target audience.

Well that wasn't funny, at all.
