Penny had a big game, but I would have went with Sheehan or Joe McCarthy for motm.

One or two neck rolls in there as well.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Looks like the bookies got this one bang on!

That's a mega win for Leinster.

Munster went fully loaded for this game with the former rotating heavily. Firmly put back in their place.

Yea get in that’s a great win that I would be snapped your hand off for at the start of the match with both teams named.

Good effort Munster but Leinster just that bit better

Porter & Sheehan both played the full match? That's immense for such a competitive game.

    Who got MOTM?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,205 ✭✭✭crisco10

Haha. They should try make some money from their skills.

Leinster turned the tide very well in and around the 70 min there. Very impressive.

Munster followed the disrupt leinster playbook (messy breakdown etc) well too.

    Just beautiful.

Losing of that was in the yellow card period. Was it 14-0 or 14-3? You can’t give up a score like that with a man advantage and expect to win.

Ref was completely fine, for all the complaining.

Great win for Leinster with a 1/4 normal team and Munster naming everybody they have available

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,205 ✭✭✭crisco10

Sheehan has done that (or close to it) 3 or 4 times this season. He's close to being flogged.

3 losses in their last 4 Thomond matches for Munster

So impressed by Joe McCarthy tonight. He was the most physically imposing second row on the pitch. Just 21 years old but dominating far more experienced opposition.

Pity Munster couldn't get the win. Leinster just slightly better tonight fair play to them and missing a lot of first choice.

The big positive its great to see Leamys influence on Munsters defence. 3 tries great on the night going forward. Crowley has some future. Overall did so much right bar the result. Well done Leinster but certainly green shoots after an awful start of season and some bleak years tbh.

It kinda blows my mind how bad Luke McGraths passing is for an experienced professional 9.

I don’t think a single pass goes into the bread basket.

Which one of the leinster players? I can't choose just one. All ridiculously gorgeous.

    100%

wasn't just that occasion.. the same with a lot of rucks.. jackler had to have hands on for a few seconds before the decision came.

Disappointing result from Munster point of view but content with the performance and at least were going in the right direction

Leinster really are getting back to there best and won't be surprised if its them in the Aviva in May for the Heineken Cup final

Its great to see the variation in the 5m taps too.

Intricate moves for the try against Racing, and Penny's tonight.

Then it comes full circle, and sheehan does nothing but tap and charge to score for his try as Munster are watching for the subtle hands somewhere.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,106 ✭✭✭✭Interested Observer

Yeah, it's a shame. He's so many other qualities but the pass isn't there and never really has been.

    Munsters kicking game was poor.

Casey was a notable upgrade on Murray. Has to be first choice. Added real zip and got Munster going forward. Needs to be in Irish 23.

Carbery has developed into a very average 10. Offers very little aside from off the tee. Who would have predicted that from him in 2016?

Great turnover from Crowley early in the game, didn’t see much of him going forward but he’s a competitor and was looking for a turnover at the end too. Would like Munster to back him at 10 alongside Casey.

Coombes is a good player. Great from 2m out, but so is Scott Penny. Not sure he has the top end speed and variety to his game to force his way into the Irish 23 anytime soon. He’s competing with the likes of VDF and Doris who are more rounded players.

Joe McCarthy and Osborne are huge talents.

If only Luke McGrath could pass..

Murray is done. He just isn't upto it anymore

    Earls not far behind

    Carbery looks average.

Leinster just outsmarted munster when it mattered.

It really does defy logic. I remember back in the day how Flannery would practices throws obsessively. For someone who arguably would have been the incumbent Irish 9 for years by now, if not for his passing, it's incredible how poor it continues to be.

(Some of the) Thomond crowd let themselves down there...

    What a game. Great stuff.

Ultimately Munster didn't rack up enough points during their dominant period in the first half.

For Leinster to win the sin bin period 14-0 was incredible and that was the turning point.
