Get 2 "project tractors" liquidated.

Other than that I always try to be happy regardless of what happen's. I always try not to let external factors effect my happiness.

Not in acres so no Glas money for next year.

farm; but if drainage in one field. Tidy up around farm yard after building shed last year which was never done this year.

family. Go on another good family holiday. Great Crain last summer.

try reduce work hours in job. And just get better work life balance. Constantly rushing around and fed up of it.

Pay her about 7200 in salary and remainder in electricity(connected to farm anyway) and couple of bills.

Haven’t paid the accountant yet for managing that part so not fully certain of fees.

from my mother point of view, she gets €597 from me per month, I pay about €9 in her tax. That number keeps her under some thresholds.

I am reading a contiguous herd test in an hours time here due to a neighbour on an outfarm going down. If I get caught I'll be starting a calf shed immediately to have it up and running in 3 weeks.

started a 2500 sq ft 2 storey house in April of this year, pretty much self build. Enjoyable but draining too

waiting for first fix wiring to be completed, plasterer lined up for mid Jan. happy enough with how far we’ve gotten on with to date, would love to have it useable inside and outside for the young lads 3rd birthday and christening of our 6 week old baby in late may

tall ask but think it’s doable

farm wise Id like to/need to increase land area, current prices for leased land or land for sale are bonkers

no major yard infrastructure work bar a dirty water tank for the parlour and 2 bays on a lean two for storage

looking forward to what cows we’ll be milking next year, got rid of a fair few poorer cows this year and last year, creeping towards 600 kgs ms per cow more and more every year. Think we’ll take a big jump towards that next year

Well I got my boat,(my 2021 resolution on here) and what an experience that turned out to be.

A whole new learning experience, Steering doesn't work in reverse, but it's a twin propeller so when I get it in a tight area, I steer it like a skid steer, one propeller forward and the other reverse. There's no brakes , you have put it in reverse to stop it,

Central heating fuelled from the diesel tank.

It carries 900 litres diesel so if I was 30 years younger It probably could cross the irish Sea. two Perkins turbo 6354 diesel engines , can travel faster than we're allowed go on the shannon.

It had a lot of issues when we bought it despite getting it professionally prepurchase surveyed so learnt a lot about it very quick.

2023 ambition is to learn how to drive it

Got into boating myself recently.

It's a fantastic hobby, I'll stay at it for life hopefully.

FYI some of those in the marine version were turboed & had a habit of blowing the turbo return or supply hose and causing fires. Just something to be aware of and check the condition of.

110-90 & 8211 Zetor. The Zetor is 40k & one of the last produced

2 interesting ones. What work does the Zetor need doing?

Last years list:

• 1. Get moved into the new house, We went sale agreed in August but still waiting to complete. (Moved in since may but found a lot of gremlins in the roof and ended up reroofing which decimated our savings).
• 2 Get some fencing done at the new place and also finish the last part left to be done in the home place. (Didnt get much of this done due to above)
• 3.Get better at Grazing and stop letting grass get too strong ahead of sheep. Need to figure out when to graze and when to move on etc. (Am getting better at this now.)

This years list:

1. Fencing & handling: want to improve and make it handy for my partner to do the day to day stuff when im working away.

2. Cull underperforming ewes. Using flockwatch now so that should help.

3. Sow a finishing crop like redstart or kale for lambs or stores. Want to do this as a project.

4. In work im now in a management position with a good team around me. I hope to improve the processes etc for everyones benefit and keep developing my own skillset.

Spend more time with my parents

Spend more time with the kids

Eventually get new parlour built

Help eldest lad expand the pedigree Angus Herd, he has a great interest.

Hopefully younger lad will progress at his sport...

Work:

Convert the straw bedded shed to cubicles and put in 2 more tanks.

Finish the water and fencing.

I have someone organised to do 2 milkings a week once the calving is finished whenever suits them.

Personal:

Get fit and take up a new hobby, I already play squash in the winter and soccer. But I'd like something during the summer.

Finish getting my artic licence

Take time off to enjoy life

If only we knew what was on the way.

Drainage to be done. Considering getting an adviser out to see if correcting pH and p & K as sufficient. If not reseed on cards as part of the process.

Holes bored for handling facilities. Just to concrete in posts and hang gates.

Not it's a bigger frame than the 7211.

Absolutely nothing done with Zetor, New Holland is coming on, another few weeks should see it ready.
