I got the plague that's doing the rounds before Christmas so hopefully I get through next week without one of the other doses.

I've a girls night out Tomorrow, wild lights on Monday and panto on Friday then back to reality on the 9th.ive some annual leave days I have to use in January so I'll break the weeks up.

Signed up to do a couch to 5k with the local athletics club starting in 2 weeks.A few years (and stone) ago I used to run 5k,5 miles,10ks regularly but gave up from hip pain with longer distances.I'm hoping the return to the short distance will help.its 9 weeks and I'm accountable to the rest of the group so hope I enjoy it.i need a fresh challenge.

In work this morning but should be only for a few hours and then off for a few more days. Bit of food shopping to be done today as will be making almost as big a dinner a Christmas dinner on New Years Day (no turkey).

No plans at all for tomorrow night, is any of you doing anything for New Years Eve?

All sick’ish here however only runny nose’s and cough’s so hopefully wouldn’t get any worse!

Raining again here so will indoors day and might venture to recycling center later if rain stops.

Hope all enjoying that Bermuda Triangle of days between Christmas and New Years 😂

Been under the weather myself for a week now. Runny nose and cough as well. Seems like everyone is dropping at the moment.

morning folks, back from spain since wednesday. can we do christmas again? i really don't like January

The míle cold i got around the 16th is still lingering insofar as i seem to have had a sinus infection since then until yesterday.

Had people over yesterday and when they went home i had to do a Covid test because my throat got really sore and my limbs were aching. Tested negative but went to bed and had an awful night's sleep. Woke up this morning and felt a lot better but can barely move I'm so fatigued. It's really odd.

I'm actually unsure if I know of anyone who HASN'T been sick this Christmas. It's ranged from colds, Covid to even strep throat in one or two cases and i also heard of a dose of Scarlet Fever 😱

I was sick for Christmas too unfortunately. As others were ill too I ended up cooking the dinner but don't think any of us felt like eating it. Real damp squib this year. Have barely had a sweet. Since we're all a lot better now I'm hoping for a great New Year's :) thank god I can work from home. So many people with doses this year but what can you do. You can't quarantine for weeks ahead of the big day so I guess it's just part of life. Maybe we're building back up our collective immunity or something. Wishing us all good health!

Glad you're all feeling better @A cup of te

I think you've hit the nail on the head though. Collective immunity seems to have warned a bit over the last, gulp, three years and this is the first winter/Christmas since 2019 where everyone is back socialising fully. Stands to reason that we're all getting hit with this whammy of multiple bugs. Flu seems to be a nasty one this year, quite a few people in hospital with it.

Funnily enough, when I thought I was getting the cold on the 16th, the main thing i thought was "at least it'll mean i should be ok by Christmas and over it by then"

Just back from Homestore & More there. Thought I would go out and have a look to see was there any deal on m decorations etc. What a letdown that was. A few miserable things shoved in a corner and the main part of the shop taken up with fitness equipment. Somebody needs to tell people that the Christmas season doesn't end until the 6th.

We were suppose to be out for dinner tonight with brother, sister and respective partner instead of doing Kris Kindle.

Had to cancel as SIL’s father in hospital, when OH rang restaurant to push out booking till end of Jan, girl said they were getting lots of cancellations due to Covid/sickness.

Sounds like everyone is suffering with one thing or another... we'll have all this to look forward to when we get back I guess.

Donaghmeade shopping centre have all of their Christmas decorations down already. Real shame as Christmas is still going.

Id rather we not see decorations in October and getting to see them til Jan 6th.

Drink plenty of Coke - it's 100% the best thing for any stomach bug.

I have just logged in to say the same thing, we were food shopping in our local Dunnes yesterday and the drapery dept had kids Paddy's Day clothes on the rack.

    It's a disgrace Joe!

Hey all, hope ye all had a lovely Christmas. It was quiet here and everything went off well. Having my brother and wife and kids up for lunch today and then going to friends this evening to ring in New Year - Happy New Year to ye all, I’m not on here as much as I used to be but know that I can just fall in whenever and everyone is so welcoming! Hope ye all have a fantastic 2023!

Leahyl you’ll always be part of our family here. And what’s Christmas without spending time with your family.

I told OH about Home Store so she went to Pennys in Omni and clear out the last of Christmas stuff, seems everything was 50 cent (or so she told me 😂).

Just get food ready for later, couple of drinks and then out to the road at 12 to ring in NY with the neighbors.

Have end of junk food bash at the folks tomorrow and rolling little lad’s birthday in as well so be nice way to end the festivities.

Chin up @Loughc we’ll be here to keep each other spirits up during the January blues

Hope all have a nice New Year’s Eve.
