Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don’t want to pile on but Elliott needs called ashore. He’s sinking out there.

Abysmal first half, knew we'd struggle massively against these as they are the worst kind of opponent for us. Well drilled, huge workrate, physical, all things we struggle with.

Ox off, Elliott off at the very least. We haven't given Salah or Nunez a look for the last 25 minutes. We're pedestrian on the ball and so easy to get at on the turnover.

One criticism I would have of the manager is he has the team set up exactly the same way as when he had this Liverpool team at their peak. And it's plainly obviously not working with the current personnel. It's not the same team but we are trying to do the exact same things.

Virgil caught out on one attack so it must all be his fault.

Anyone who can't see that the midfield's intensity is the issue, well, I don't know how much proof you need.

One of the worst performances of the season, after what was probably the worst but luckiest performance to date. There's not a single player living up to their capabilities today. Woeful.

Jurgen needs to change something and do it quickly. It can't be any worse, just chuck on Naby or Jones and see if we can grab hold of the centre. Elliott isn't at the races today.

Missed big chances this season, Nunez in top prize position, Mo currently runner up.

Looking at the bench i'm not sure there's anyone there to turn it around for us.

He said that on Friday after a game where he was destroyed by Harvey Barnes in the first half. The guy is a complete liability and his attacking return isn't covering for it anymore.

Carragher would have been all over him from 18 months ago if he's wasn't a local boy

is there even any point in watching the second half? It's just gonna be more tepid ponderous pointless attacking play from us while Brentford continue to hit us on the break. 3 or 4 nil is far more likely than 2-1 or 2-2 imo.

The sick thing is we could have easily been 2 or 3 up before they got their first but missed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭passremarkable

Hendo proving a massive loss in these games.

    get Elliott and kostas off

    robbo on

klopp should eat them in the dressing

way too casual and slow out there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,512 ✭✭✭✭noodler

This seems the most likely outcome.

We have stopped playing since minute 10.

Hopefully Klopp can redeem that performance at HT

Nunez chance is a sliding door moment

Harvey has to be off - for the second goal alone. He is booked aswell, so he can have no complaints at all.

Nunez is not seeing enough ball, Salah is nearly non-existent, Ox is doing better than the last day - not saying much - Fab and Thiago need to be doing more.

Greek Scouser could have scored but doesn't look great defensiovely.

Such a poor first half - as bad as we've been in years.

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance we deliver after a Klopp bollicking.

    Matip coming on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,398 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Same as the Leicester game really. They are running around us like we're a load of traffic cones. Only difference is no Wout Faes to save us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,698 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Matip Robbo and Naby all on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,967 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Konate injury is just what we need, unless it is just tactical?

Edit: the LiveScore app got it wrong I see it's vvd

  • Administrators Posts: 54,128 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Matip Robertson and Keita on.

Elliott Tsimikas and Van Dijk hauled off.

Elliot, Tsimikas and VVD subbed off for Keita, Robbo and Matip.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,698 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

About time VVD gets a kick in the backside to wake him up. Strutting about like a prize peacock.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,506 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Delighted to see VVD hooked off at half time. It’s been coming for a while and you’d hope it’ll give him a right kick up the arse.

Nice to see 3 dragged, especially Van Dijk, he needs a kick in ther rear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,541 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

VVD deservedly subbed off. The way Mbuemo skinned him for the corner before Brentfords 1st was a bit damning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,504 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Sad, when we all knew coming into this, we can't win this, Liverpool can't beat Brentford.

    Who's captain now?

That’s a kick in the nuts for Virg, but all 4 of the backs cud have been hooked and we wouldn’t have been surprised,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,698 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

    Better already from Robbo

You are not allowed to call him out .... everyone else's fault

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭mormank

NO but he has been way below par all season and it looks like Klopp finally sees it.

    GET THE FCK IN

    NUNEZ!!

    Offside, you just know it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,512 ✭✭✭✭noodler

No, let's be clear, you had an oddly timed post criticising him for the second goal. Rightly questioned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,512 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Balls

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,285 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Awesone finish by Nunez, but just offside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭mormank

Those subs actually give me some cause for hope. Van Dijk should spend some time on the bench now imo. Not saying he is finished or anything like that but a few weeks on the bench won't hurt him or us imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,398 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Great finish from Nunez and of course he’s just off. That kind of day.
