Dail Bar:Path taken over by seating

It's at a pedestrianised street junction. It's the same with other businesses in the area

If you think it is causing you an obstacle you should contact the Access Officer in Galway City Council. Include Photographs. If she determines it is she will get planning enforcement involved.

Hence you need to have photographs because if it is partially blocked and a wheelchair will get past they will be left alone. Stuff like the business reputation and rate payments are all taken into account. They might be making more money to create jobs. Once everyone can get on. I know one business thar had to remove about 5% of their outside seating and council were happy.

Agreed that it shouldn’t but if you are showing good compliance with council you have a chance they will be more lenient than someone who isn’t.

Nb: This was taken at night, when the staff had started taking the outdoor area apart. Usually the full footpath width barriers go right up to the door on Cross Street.

I don't think Cross Street is the issue as it is pedestrianised outside of delivery hours, and I don't think the furniture is out during those hours.

The problem is on Middle Street, which is lower traffic now because of new layout, but isn't pedestrianised. Anyone walking along the north side of Middle Street, wanting to turn right onto Cross Street, will be forced onto the road with cars by the Dail Bar furniture.

So I went back in daytime.

Alot of Euro Countrys with outside seating like this - they would place them on the "street" level and have the footpath clear. Should be dished kerb crossing here regardless
