GoSafe Van was speeding

Hi, probably being pedantic, but here goes

I was travelling out of my town last week and passed a speed van whilst doing well below the speed limit, so no worries.

Came back in the opposite direction about 1 hour later and let the GoSafe van pull out in front of me from its parked area ( 60km zone )

Continued driving with the GoSafe van in front of me, check my speedo and GPS and i am doing 60km, about 200m up the road the limit dropped to 50km/h and I reduced my speed accordingly, the speed van kept their speed and the distance between us grew quickly, i.e. he was travelling above the speed limit for the area.

I've no grudge against the job these guys do and haven't got a speeding ticket ever, but I'm annoyed that these guys are doing a job to maintain we all behave but in this instance the driver was flaunting the rules.

Do I let this sit, or make a complaint ( this would not give time and details ), just to make the authorities maybe remind the vans to observe the rules also as all should

How long do these guys take to send speeding fines? Was worried I was caught on 28th Dec on the M1. No fine in the post yet. I'm guessing by the end of next week I should know?

Who is going to catch them? No different to Gardai flouting traffic laws. Unless they do the dog on it and draw attention to themselves, it's just another thing to get irked about and go on about your business.

Unless you are willing to make a complaint and provide your name address and contact details and be willing to stand in the box in court giving evidence then nothing will come of it.

You are the only person who can give any 'evidence' of speeding and if you aren't willing then it will go nowhere.

The gosafe operator will say 'yeah, yeah, tis awful, bye' and that will be that.

Oh I know that, but it's amazing the amount of people who complain about another person's driving but aren't willing to back it up and then complain the Gardai do nothing when they have nothing to go on but a phone report where someone won't even give their own details.
