Dolphins must be up there with one of the worst teams to make the playoffs, lost 5 of last 6. Texans handing the Bears the number 1 pick

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,314 ✭✭✭Man Vs ManUre

A serious dent to my lifelong dream of being the Champ. Only got 10/16. Saints, Colts, Bucs, Cowboys, Chargers, Packers u can all go stand in the bold boys corner.

  • Registered Users Posts: 319 ✭✭collybyrne

11-5 takes me to 175-97 for the regular season.

Always tricky on the last week where you've got the likes of the Bucs and Chargers not playing for anything and losing to inferior opposition. I know it's tough on the Green Bay fans in here but I'm sure all the neutrals were rooting for the Lions in what I thought was a cracking game last night. The stones on Campbell to go for some of those plays in the 4th quarter, I know it's probably easier when the pressure is off but to be fair to him that's the way they've played the whole second half of the season. Not sure if Goff is going to be the man to take them to the next level from next season on but you have to hand it to him, he's made alot of good plays for them this year and been better than most people could have expected I think.

11-5 to finish 172-99. For the life of me can't remember picking the Browns over the Steelers

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,925 ✭✭✭Paleface

I'm such an idiot for missing the Saturday games!

9 - 7 which brings me to 175 - 97 to finish the regular season.

@collybyrne looks like we are tied for the lead right now. Is there anyone else with a higher total?

  • Registered Users Posts: 319 ✭✭collybyrne

Hi Paleface. No I don't think so. I'm happy to concede this one to you though, I don't doubt you would have gotten at least one of the Saturday ones right!

You must be delighted with the Seahawks making the Playoffs. Can't say I saw that coming starting the season with Geno under centre. You have to hand it to Carroll, he's some coach. Never mind the fact that he's the youngest looking 71 year old I've ever seen! The 9ers will be a tough out for you guys but it's all gravy from here, the seasons a success no matter what.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,925 ✭✭✭Paleface

I'm happy to call it a tie. Well done on a great season of picks! I'll keep posting my picks for the playoffs so I hope you do too.

Its been a fantastic season of transition for the Seahawks that no one saw coming, least of all myself. The Wilson trade right now looks like a master stroke for Carroll and Schneider. They've made the playoffs, have the 5th overall pick plus another first round pick yet to be determined (probably 19th or 20th) in the next draft. Carroll has always worked better with younger players too, so getting in top quality players with these higher draft picks can only mean good things for the future. Cross, Walker, Lucas and Woolen are all cemented starters as rookies. If they can do that again for next year then they could be scary good!

I duly expect them to get steam rolled by the 49ers on Saturday but inside I'm hoping they make it a close game. Then its wait to see who stays or goes for next season. Do they draft a QB? Where will Geno go? Are they trying to do the same with Lock as they did with Geno and have him quietly improve in the background? They need to draft well at Center and also improve the defensive line.

Lastly, how long more will Carroll go for? The NFL's Benjamin Button! If he wants to go out on a high the time must surely be approaching...

Great season Paulie. Thanks a million for always laying out the schedules for us every week. Just goes to show the one week you didn't get in first we nearly missed the Saturday games altogether! Do you think you'll keep it going for the play-offs?
