Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Here we go again with 'escaping war' lingo, it's a mantra now

Georgians and Albanians aren't for a start.

The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution.

The Entryism process: 1) Demand access; 2) Demand accommodation; 3) Demand a seat at the table; 4) Demand to run the table; 5) Demand to run the institution; 6) Run the institution to produce more activists and policy until they run it into the ground.

Undocumented can't get on a flight.

Irish undocumented in the US don't get free bed board medical card and freebies.

We have taken more as a percentage of our population that France Italy and Spain.

And if they were desperate for safety why are they moaning about heated tented accommodation.

Tired of do gooders spouting nonsense like this wan. Joe will keep her on though as she's speaking the rte gospel

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,485 ✭✭✭golondrinas

Yes very poor argument. Shure all the Irish who left for the US and were given social welfare, own door ,medical cards, access to solrs for leave to remain etc. None of them survived the tenamants etc.

Surely actual socialists (not saying this one is) would be totally against the laissez-faire immigration policies as we see them exercised in this country.

I'm saying this because apparently anyone with ANY objections to the policies are invariably 'right-wing' or for Wordle bingo, 'far-right'

It's a sad state of affairs where no main political party are having a sensible discussion about people coming here who should be deported asap. ( People destroying documents or from.safe countries)

I've seen a few travel docs about Albania (ie YouTube lone travellers, usually the best insight IMO) and the place looks a great spot to visit, people seem uber friendly.

On the contrary, the vast vast majority of refugees flee to the first country that they can get to in a degree of safety. However some can reach out to friends or family or connections in external countries. A lot of the initial waves of Ukranians that arrived in Ireland came here upon invitations from people who were here. This is similar to how those from specific parts of Ireland tended to go to certain parts of England or America; they had someone there to help them along.

Here's an up to datebreakdown of who took in more within the EU.

    Another gobshite.

    The poles came legally.

A lot of these illegals are unskilled and are just waiting to be approved so the whole extended family can come in. So they have to be housed fedooked after medically as well.

Well, there's no doubt Ukrainians are refugees. Escaping war can be applied in their cases plus they've been given additional status.

There are many African countries (for instance) where someone fleeing could find refuge and be safe from death in their own country, surely that's priority 1 then work away from there.

I've more a feeling the policies we see now are mainly for increasing the population of Ireland as imagined by Coveney et al.

They need to be completely upfront about it, stop obscuring and address the anger that is mounting which will lead to really unsavoury feckers hijacking that real anger.
