Make up an event/race

The Waterford HM used to be a lap of the city, then out and back towards Tramore, before finishing on the track.

It's best course in my opinion.

Ive often thought Gormanstown (the Delvin river is the Dublin border) to Greystones along the coast would be a cracking 100k taking in Dublin coastal routes

Ran from Bray to St. Anne's one Christmas, about 20 miles from memory into a headwind 😆. We were supposed to go from Greystones but a trampoline on the track scuppered some folks from making it to Greystones.

I always though the Great Western Greenway would be a lovely marathon. Start on Achill Island and finish in Westport.

Marathon between Dun Laoghaire and Howth.

Or same distance from Greystones to St Anne's park.

Always enjoyed the IMRA 25k from Ballinastoe to Johnny Foxes, could have extended it to Cabinteely or Marlay Park for a finish, even to town or Phoenix Park but would have to be on open roads.

Back about 10 years ago my club held our County senior xc championship. The course was 3 laps of 2 mile, held on a hilly course that brought you through 6 gates/gaps one of which had a stream running through it. There was also some old large hay bales that you had to jump over. While it might not be as you described its probably as close as you would get.

It was absolutely epic course.

The problem now is, unless it's a manicured course "da" mammys and daddy's will be enraged.
