    What is Enoch's endgame?

  • Registered Users Posts: 41,062 ✭✭✭✭Annasopra

You used it above. You havent got a leg to stand on 🤣

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I don't think anyone here considers him "a monster" or all that much of a "danger to society", but I think I'm OK in saying that the majority of people here consider him to be a petulant child who is incapable of behaving properly and who firmly believes that he is always 100% right and that everyone else should simply bow down and accept his opinions as absolute fact.

The sad reality is that Enoch has rendered himself entirely unemployable in his chosen field in this country just as his Sister Ammi has, following her similarly irrational behaviour in the face of an employment disciplinary process.

There are a very very limited number of Protestant faith schools in this country (I can think of maybe a dozen at best) and none of them will touch him with a 50 foot barge poll.

Not because of his faith , but because of all the drama that comes with employing any member of his family along with his clear and obvious inability to follow basic procedures and processes as laid down by his employers.

He is the very definition of "Just not worth the hassle" .

Ultimately, to be one of the 144,000 people raptured prior to the Great Tribulation, as per Chapter 7 of the Book Of Revelation. However, he seems to be taking a strange route to get there.

Keep the grift coming in as he and his siblings are making themselves unemployable

That everyone just accept that he is absolutely correct and that we all bow down before his beliefs and his beliefs alone.

It certainly isn't. It's the same as calling someone a bedside table or a garage door.

    Oh for fúcks sake 🙄

31 pages in and we still get this crap.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

They singular they is a gender neutral third person pronoun. as a third person pronoun you would, of course, not use it in their presence. You can just use their name instead.

    Teach the controversy, eh? 🙄

Meanwhile, back in the real world, no employer with half a brain or greater will consider employing any of the Burkes

No same sex marriage, divorce, porn, sex outside marriage, etc.

Basically a very strict Bible upbringing for all of Ireland!

If there was one seat left on the bus and it was beside somebody with a name like Enoch, I'd rather stand.

    Two points:

    1. I thought he had appealed the suspension to the courts? Is that what tomorrow is about? Normally a suspension is lifted when under appeal.

    2. Don"t hold your breath on any disciplinary process being finished anytime soon. Staff member in one of my kids schools has being successfully playing the avoid a disciplinary hearing game for nearly 5 years. Lawyer up and develop a brass neck and things ca n drag on for years.

His hearing tomorrow is one seeking an injunction against the disciplinary meeting due on January 19th. Despite his objections, his suspension still stands.

It could well drag on for years. He won't lawyer up, though. His sister represented him at the beginning, but since then he's made a point of representing himself. It seems to be part of their standard operation. His mammy may get involved from time to time too.

OT but I was watching a competition on TV recently. One of the contestants preferred the pronouns they/them. When the judges used they/them while discussing that contestant, you could think they were discussing the contestants collectively as a group - talking about "the mistakes they made" and so on.

The first time I thought they/them was ever so slightly problematic over he/she etc.

That's often the person "over-correcting" when they are asked to use they/them.

Just use the name a bit more and it's really not an issue.

"Didn't John do well , I thought they were very good" etc. instead of trying to force "they/them" where it really doesn't smoothly fit.

Is Burke still defying a court order, and if so, is there a reason he’s being allowed?

  • Lord I knew the Enoch crowd were a bit touched but are we actually trying to change the dictionary now?

    1. used to refer to two of more people or things previously mentioned or easily identified
    2. Used to refer to a person of unspecified gender

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,406 ✭✭✭Tork

Seriously? What school would want to employ somebody who refuses to abide by its procedures? The pronouns issue is what triggered Enoch on this occasion but it could just have easily been anything else. The Burke modus operandi seems to be to act as if rules are for other people, then kick up a fuss. I've no doubt his mammy will have a part to play in tomorrow's hearing.

  • Also laughable that 22 years after the IOM wrote a paper on the difference between a persons biological sex and their preferred gender we still have people who think they’re the same thing.

“i IdEnTiFy aS a GaRdEn ShEd” strange way to say you’re an idiot..

but anyway, here’s the IMO’s full paper

and if that’s too much reading, the Yale school of medicine wrote an article on the paper and it’s findings

there’s no excuse, not in 2023, to be so blindly ignorant of transgenderism, non binary people and pronouns. If calling someone “they” “he” or “she” despite their biological sex is somehow putting you out of your way, guess what, you’re the problem.

If you’re that much of an ignorant piece of shite that giving people the most basic of respect is beyond your capability please lock yourself inside and never go out again. The world could do without you more than it could do with you. And in fact, please tell me by reply or DM if you fall into that camp so I can never speak to you on this platform again, seeing as I wouldn’t want to engage with you on any subject.

I’m absolutely sick to death of seeing people so readily put others down for choices they make that have no impact on anyone but themselves. Do you have any idea how hard it is to live your life feeling like you’re someone else? To look at yourself in the mirror as a man or woman and just feel it’s wrong.

Everything else about you feels right, your personality your likes and dislikes, but your body? It’s wrong. It doesn’t sit right. It doesn’t look right. Then imagine if you work up the courage to tell someone, tell your family, explore your options. But all the while you’re trying your damn best to feel normal all around you people are screaming you down that you’re some sort of sick freak. They won’t even give you the decency and respect to follow a basic wish to be called a new name or referred to ask “they” instead of he/she or she instead of he etc.

Just imagine how isolating that must feel. But sure what about all that human suffering, isn’t it great to sit on your PC and proudly announce— like the absolute dick you are that you now identify as a F-16 Fighter Jet.

Of course anyone so self involved couldn’t begin to imagine how another person feels or what your “memes” make them feel. some disgusting comments made here and I sincerely hope they’ve been reported and the mods and admins, god bless them, deal with the ones responsible.

God help us that in this day and age, after all we’ve done to progress this country, we’re still dealing with bigotry and absolutely ludicrous ideology.

I understand it's back before the High Court tomorrow

    Thread closed

  • Today’s the day. He sought an injunction to stop it (which he would’ve gotten if he wasn’t a clown) but like it or lump it the dislplincary hearing is today.

If you happen to be a guest in the Mullingar Park Hotel hate to be you or enjoy the show.

(assuming this is ok to open a thread because it’s not before the courts anymore)!

I’m unsure what will happen though I suspect dismissal but they can also demote him apparently. I can’t see the school or BOM wanting him near the place. I’m curious though if he is sacked and he shows up (which god knows he will) is it then criminal trespass? I know the Gardaí couldn’t do anything previously because it wasn’t considered trespass but surely if he’s dismissed they will take it a bit more seriously?

The references in the WRC to the family becoming a travelling circus become more apt everyday
