Some really inaccurate passing too - Carbery culpable a few times, Frisch had one, and Casey as well, unnecessarily firing the ball at guys about 3m away from him.

Both halves struggling but not exactly their fault. Toulouse line speed and lack of gainline and quick ruck is making this a painful spectacle.

It wouldn’t matter if Munster had a prime Dan Carter at 10 here, they are getting taken apart up front.

No 10 would deal with this.

Carbery has looked like he is terrified of contact for a while imo. Both in attack and defence.

The pace of Toulouse play, running and passing, is phenomenal to watch.

Have you seen the size of these lads? Carbery is like a sitting duck here, massive units have the time and space to line him up on almost every phase.

I hope when the Irish players get into Irish camp for the 6N they are remember how to ruck...

Yeah I’m aware. Was a point more regarding him in general for the last while.

Physicality here is off the scale. Massive hits going on from both sides.

Marchand's second steal was never a clear release.

Arnold lucky to wrap on that one, he definitely didn't on the earlier Carbery tackle

Super try from Munster and a really brilliant response here from them.

That physicality and pace will have taken its toll on Toulouse as well.

Big score. After all the pressure that's great stuff.

Munster have done really well to weather a massive storm with only a 6 point deficit. Surely Toulouse can't maintain this intensity all game..

    Great score.

Missed conversion, and Carbery wonders why Ireland dropped him...

    Oh god what a miss.

Jesus christ that was some scrummage from John Ryan. Folded Baille back over on himself.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,691 ✭✭✭Shehal

Jesus Christ why the **** are we knocking on so much, just gifting Toulouse the ball back. Munster need to seriously get their head in the game, great we got back into it but continue to drop the ball and it wont be long before we are punished.

Holy **** Munster get a pen against the head in the scrum! One thing you cant deny is Munster's scrum has been superb.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,963 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

Jesus Ryan utterly destroyed Baille there.

Ah come on, of all the reasons Carbery has been dropped, his kicking is 100% not a reason.

Always get this slight drop off in big packs after about 30mins. Munster need to continue making hay as Toulouse will get a second wind in the second half before unleashing their bench.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Harsh that Hodnett was on the way out before Jelonch pinned him in and made the exit harder

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,668 ✭✭✭clsmooth

Huge. Well done Munster. Great defence

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Phew didn't think that seal off was going to be caught. Some battle.

Massive 2nd 20 mins there from Ryan.

Huge penalty win from Ryan under the sticks (little fortunate as not sure he was supporting his body weight).

Toulouse look a little out of ideas - it's all one out runners and just crashing huge men into contact. Munster's defence and grit has been superb here. It looked after 10 mins like they could be pumped here, but they've responded brilliantly. Well in this game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,691 ✭✭✭Shehal

Okay after a ominous first 20 the last 20 has gone pretty well. Toulouse turning down the 3, which they normally wouldnt do, and us still keeping them out is a huge psychological boost for us and blow for them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

It was sealing off anyway, the Toulouse lad was straight off his feet under Ryan

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,146 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Toulouse don't play the way their reputation suggests. They're very much a kick and territory oriented side who'll bash through you and make you kick to them on bad terms. Then they'll break out their offloading game. In terms of phase attack I don't think they're as sophisticated as some.

Munster have a strong defence and if they can weather the third quarter of the game they've a good chance of winning.

Ryan with some shift in that half.
