A long long day at the tech desk. Watching a Bronson movie. Love him! A real creepy one about pervos preying on young girls. Thankfully they do eventually get their brains blown out. A couple of pork chops with mash, veg and gravy ready to go. Need it real bad.

A hug from here. As I say often, my LEABA is warm and divine. Back to Bronson for me!

I've the snoodie on and my cat climbed up atop me on the couch because I'm obviously warm...little user...

I treated myself to a snoodie snuggie and some jogger style jammie leggings today. Tomorrow I have to wait around all day for HSE to collect some of the equipment Grumpy used so that will be my attire for the day. I actually can't wait to get showered and hair washed and into the comfort clobber. Veggie chilli in the slow cooker so naught to do tomorrow 'cept throw some rice into the rice cooker and nom it down.

Deeply thankful to be home from several days in hospital after a medical emergency . Deeply impressed by all who got me

there from the island - then back here. Still stunned by it all and decidedly fragile. Abed keeping warm. Will take a while of days to be anything like well but am past the worst. Thanks be to God - and HSE. They are stars, via the people running this. Just awed and grateful.

But the service we get on the islands is little short of miraculous. So many supports and enablers... It used to be just the Air Ambulance, which landed up at the landing pad way at the other end of the island and the two crew.

We have no dr or nurse out here and not full time on the next bigger island so there is a system in emergency ..runs like clockwork

This time they landed in the middle of the rough field next to my home....

Time was islanders were at great risk in severe illness or injury but not now.

Met here by my good neighbours the ferrymen, bearing a cooked meal... They greatly care and value me and that is at my age of almost 80 more healing than anything else.

I am safe out here as nowhere else. and the peace and beauty of the place. And the great kindness.

Oh and got loved to death by the cats of course.. lol...

One question.. What has happened to the weather! Just nasty!

Whenever I read something with an error, it makes me disbelieve all of the report.

“According to end of flight simulations run by the Australian bureau, the plane was spiraling in its final moments, descending at up to 25,000 feet per minute (284 mph).” Converting 25,000 feet into MPH doesn’t indicate or prove that the aircraft hit the water at that speed, especially when the aircraft was intact and therefore creating lift.

The positive thing from this is that we now have satellite based flight tracking, so hopefully this type of even is never repeated.

Yes indeed it is! Hilarious my arithmetic is so shaky I got that wrong and thought it was 70 this year!. early June Not had a dip like this with the M.E for years. The muscles feel like jelly when I walk..

I had no idea either in spite of seeing news online of the true state of our hospitals now. Corridors lined iwth patients.. Dreadful,, I was seen as soon as I arrived as I had come in as an emergency then in the corridor only a while. Then the privacy of a cubicle in the ED . But so many being treated in public like that. The govt need to get this sorted. It is demoralising for our wonderful nurses and doctors.

But it is just a variation/diminutive of bambino/a? And easy to change..

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,634 ✭✭✭✭Graces7

Yeah, in the blunt end strapped into a stretcher!! No fun in that! I gather the 6 young uniformed guys were trainees? There is a report on the Coastguard facebook page. But formidable rescue work. By ferry and road it would take well over an hour. One day I will get a real ride in a Bird... Up front with the driver! I have a route planned.

Bless these men! I ordered some ready meals etc for the next while and when I emerged to go to the gate where shopping usually gets left, he had brought it right to the door without making a sound. How blessed I am here!

Sorry you had a rough time Graces and hope you are feeling better. X

I have spent the last while wondering why I wasn't sent to a head doctor when I think about how I left here 2 years ago and was almost reluctant to come back.

Kuala Lumpur is the best place in the world.

And I'm not drunk. Not fit to after 2 nights in a row. Was at a special CNY party on one of the city's most exclusive bars on Tuesday and a lad from Dubai took a shine to my friend and bought us drinks and wouldn't let us leave early as we had intended. We ended hanging out with one of the crown princes and the wife of the deputy prime minister.

Next day he invited us to another of the hoity-toity bars and said some friends were joining us. These 3 guys arrived in with a young Polish model. Turns out she is dating his friend and two of the guys were his security detail coz he is such a hot shot.

It was mad after that. We went to the club at the Mandarin Oriental hotel and were whisked through to a vip section. Like the crowded club actually parted to let us through.

Myself, my mate and the model had to go to the ladies room so one security guard escorted us and made those lining up move and let us in. T'was mortifying but funny too. We were VIPPeeing it seems.

We even got moved to a different section behind the dj box because the hoi-poly were daring to come near us. One woman accidentally touched my arm and was removed from the area before I could blink.

It's truly crazy how rich some of these mofos are, and while I have had some mad nights out with some rich and famous, this was just beyond anything I have ever seen.

But back to reality with a bump today. Working from noon until a few minutes, and it's almost 4 am.

Have to pay for this lifestyle somehow!

TL/DR: Witchie is a party animal and so happy to be back in KL.

Well I am only here for another week, then a few days in Penang, a few days in Langkawi at a nice beach resort, then off to Singapore for a few days and head on to Vietnam to meet some people I became a friends with in Albania.

My mate and I booked our hotel in Langkawi on Tues afternoon, then Tues night met Dubai Guy who owns an even fancier place up there and he kept saying he would hook us up. Aw well. He has promised us a sunset cruise on his friend's boat. 🤣

I was once in a bar, in my 20s.

Got chatted up by a guy who offered to buy me a drink.

He pulled some purse yolk out of his pocket that was attached to his belt loop with a chain.

    I got major ick.

For some reason I still gave him my number. He text me asking me to go stay with him in his rented accommodation in Dublin the following weekend. 😏

    No thanks, manbag dude.

Chilling on the sofa after a long day at work and then a few important errands to do this evening.

Say hello to one of the new mods on After Hours... 😁

Was invited to join the Boards modding team by email a couple of days ago and I accepted this morning! 😊👍👍 Only took 18+ years of being on so I must have some endearing qualities lol 😎

I promise to be a good, impartial and fair mod. Scout’s honour!

@graces7 - really sorry to hear of your health scare, hope you are on the mend now. 💕👍

    Twit-twoo 😙

Check out them shiny new mod knickers on you!

I'll never be asked to be a mod. I tend to be very well behaved on here but when I get my (non mod) knickers in a twist I can really go for it. I promise to be good for you, though, Kid.

    Sitting here like a zombie.

    Need to goto bed. 🤣

Need a complete change in my life.

And then I read @Witchie 's posts above and I'm like - why did I ever settle for a lifestyle I never ever wanted.

And this song springs to mind. It is really, truly a work of art.

Existentialism meets New Wave. Two of my favourite things in this world. Divine is the fruit of that marraige.

Right, I'm off to don a black polo neck, listen to some late 70s and early 80s music and use big words when I talk so it sounds like I actually know sh1t.
