No granny charger

Hi, Just bought a Kia Soul 2020 from a dealership. Should there have been a granny charger with it. I did ask but maybe he thought I meant a type 2. Stuck on the farm the far side of the country from the dealer and no charger installed here yet.

You can pick up a granny charger for about €200-250 from somewhere like Micks Garage or Screwfix. I know that won't fix the situation you find yourself in now but at least it will get you out of a bind for the next time.

As another poster said, the cables can be quite valuable and the KIA one will be multiples of the price above (I was quoted €1300 for the Hyundai granny and type 2 from Hyundai Ireland, for example) so it looks like the previous owner just kept it.

Yes there should have been a granny and a type 2 cable, afaik all Hyundai/Kia came with them. I would be asking your dealership where my three pin granny changer is. Also check all hidden places in car first, often they are in a compartment you may not first see, most people rarely if ever use.

Unfortunately the best time to negotiate is before you do the deal on buying a car, but I would still be after the dealer for goodwill if the granny is absent.

It varies, I think the first Leafs had granny cables only and no Type 2 cable

Mine had none when I bought it and the salesman took a type 2 lead from another car. I ended up buying a granny lead second hand from Adverts

They said they would send one down🤞. In a hurry to get away on a bank holiday friday not the best time to be doing stuff. Lesson learned. Nice car though.
