Anyone have their holiday booked through LoveHolidays? Due to go Portugal 27th of May and Final payment due on the 13th. They booked our flights with Ryanair but Ryanair haven't offically cancelled our flight yet and they seem to be doing it week by week.
    What's people experience with LoveHolidays?

I was in this exact situation a few weeks ago. We were due to fly to Portugal today with Ryanair and returning Aer Lingus. Deposit was paid before Christmas balance due 16th April (two weeks before take off. If it went as far as the 16th I would have let love holidays take the balance. If I didn't I would have broken contract & been entitled to nothing when it was eventually cancelled. As it turns out it was cancelled a week before balance was due.

The strange thing is that I have to get my refund /vouchers from Ryanair and Aer Lingus and whatever is left out of the deposit love holidays will refund me. I now have to deal with three separate companies to get refunds. Postponing the trip didn't suit me as we are going to Peru (we hope) in October.

Yes I will do the same with the final payment which is almost €900. I read that we have to deal with ryanair ourselves but the refund will still go back to loveholidays then they'll give us a voucher for full amount or if not used by the 31st of July we can request a cash refund. Very confused.

I don't mind taking a voucher for this as hopefully be able to book for next year, but concerned if loveholidays will be trading next year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,082 ✭✭✭irelandspurs

Got an email today from Loveholidays to say they will not be collecting the final payment on the 13th which is good, and they'll be back in touch once flights officially cancelled which will be this week sometime.

Ryanair cancelled my flights over 3 weeks ago. I'm heard nothing yet from love holidays, confirming that they've cancelled my hotel & transfers. Do they do it automatically? They've already took full payment

Same here with them. Ryanair cancelled in July. From Facebook page they only cancelling up to 18th June. Refunds taking months to process. Impossible to get hold of. Amount of people complaining online around lack of communication and no way of contacting. Does anyone know would chargeback work in this instance with Aib visa.

you need to go onto manage your booking on loveholidays and choose the option my flight has changed.
They won't contact you until 7 days before departure date.

I got one the other day. Haven't got round to phoning them yet. They are not refunding for flights (I have to get this from Ryanair and Aer Lingus myself) & my holiday was cancelled days before I was due to pay the balance. With me having to deal with the airlines it leaves love holidays owing me around 40 euro

Mine is only for hotels anyway, we were supposed to be going to the Champions cup final in Marseille in May and booked everything seperately. Flight refunds are a whole other pain in the arse, Still battling air france for that. Im owed about 200 from loveholidays.

Did you ring the number in the end? Got the same email but haven't done anything yet.

I rang the number, it is an automated system. 3 min call, just had to enter my booking reference and confirm that they will refund the money to the last payment method used

Sadly my experience with LoveHolidays has been far worse. I had a trip in March which had been cancelled by LH and they were impossible to contact as they had taken down their phone number from the website.

So after hours, upon hours, upon hours, of trying to get through to someone on live chat I eventually got through and was told that I will not be offered a refund only a credit note.

So, here we are, four months later. I initiated a Credit Card Chargeback and it looks like they're trying to prevent the money being pulled from their account. The matter is due to be resolved by the end of July but for goodness sake they shouldn't have tried to circumvent consumer rights to begin with - regardless of the circumstances.

I forgot all about ringing them till I saw this thread pop up again.Must do it in the morning.

Edit. Rang there earlier and went through the automated system. Handy and easily sorted.

Anyone know what the situation is with refund/change of date if flight is going ahead but can't travel because of quarantine coming back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 79 ✭✭Awfull Lawfull

Hi . I have a trip booked to Mijas for a week on the 9th of August .
Paid a low deposit with Love Holidays and if I cancel now will lose that
and the price of the flights . We wont go if its not on the green list so we
just have to wait and see. Our next payment date is the 29th of July.
Does anyone know if we wait any longer to cancel , could we lose even more money ?
I cant get through to LH.

Based on facebook etc. alot of disgruntled customers. They are still taking payments off people regardless. You need to get on the chat before 9am in the morning. keep refreshing that's your best chance of getting someone... can also trying emailing Message-centre@loveholidays.com with booking ref but could take weeks for a reply. You could also try manage your booking on their site and go to cancel and gives you outline of how much you will lose. I only booked hotel with them and they said I could cancel 10 days before due date without losing full amount but I didn't trust them .I put in for refund back in May as separate flights cancelled but some people still waiting from march/april. They say you are in a queue for refund based on departure date.

Thanks for that. I have only paid the deposit so not due a refund. REfreshing there page since 9am. I went through the cancellation option and they said i would have to pay for the flights which is €300. I have mailed them,

When I call the phone number to get my refund & enter my booking ref it says not valid number. I can't get live chat at all now for over a week. They wont refund my flights I have to chase Ryanair & Aer lingus myself for refund. Love holidays only owe me 40 euro if I chase the airlines myself.

Had another holiday booked for Peru with a different agent & they dealt with airlines to get my refund. I have no contract with Ryanair or Aer lingus. My contract is with love holidays. I find it hard to believe that it's not their job to chase the airlines for refund.

It is saying my flights are non refundable even though I have not paid for them ?

Would recommend contacting LH via their Twitter page.

Include your ref number and they'll message you a response.

Other than discovering that by pure fluke I thought LH had completely gone to ground.

Currently 454th in queue to chat. Finally got on at 1pm after weeks of trying. Was 500 so they have got through 46 people in 22min... could be long wait

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66 ✭✭mrperty2011

Finally got refund on credit card. In total shock. Just paid cancellation fee of €30

Was your hotel closed? Or were u able to cancel anyway

Hotel was still open but separate ryanair flights cancelled. Hotel was suppose to be non refundable but went to cancel and gave me option to cancel for €30 and refund remaining. Took under a month although I had contacted them originally when flights cancelled in may.

    Hi folks,

thinking of booking a holiday with this crowd - anyone booked with them? if so, experience? good bad or indifferent?

seems to be cheaper than the travel agent in town

    TIA

Booked a holiday with Loveholidays for the family for 2 weeks in July and paid the deposit, then today out of the blue, we get an email to say that they are refunding the money and cancelling the booking and no reason given that's it and if we want to book with them again go to loveholidays.ie. I don't think we will be given that they accepted the deposit and we booked time off work for those weeks and now a week or so later they cancel and no reason given, not even a call to say if there was a problem, nothing.

I think if a package has Ryanair involved I’d prefer to have the flight booking done myself rather than a third party do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭endofrainbow

exactly - why pay a 3rd party for what you can easily book yourself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,842 ✭✭✭Floppybits

Lanzarote. Didn't want to honour the price the gave, knew it was too good to be true. Managed to book elsewhere and with aer lingus
