TBH I wouldn't mind some snow. The last time we had real snow was the Beast from the East but I was stuck in hospital in Waterford for the whole event, I felt cheated.

I was heavily pregnant. Sitting in looking out at himself and eldest having snowball fights. Then building a snowman.

The idea of slipping and ending up stranded like a turtle didn't appeal 😂

Happy Friday! The last Friday of February - how fast this month has flown!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,087 ✭✭✭pigtail33

February really did fly by. I know it's a short month, but it seemed to last only half as long as January.

I got paid yesterday and I almost wasn't expecting it. March is a 5 week month for us though (we get paid on the last Thurs of every month), and I will definitely be waiting for that pay day.

Down in the urgent care clinic with my daughter, hurt her ankle at training last night and has worsened overnight, xray came back with a fracture so waiting to see the consultant... only the 4 hours here so far and today was a days leave too... sods law.

Still, important she gets sorted. No sport for her for a few weeks though and she's gutted.

Is the comments section jumping for anyone else as their typing...it's wrecking my head! It keeps untagging the person I've tagged aswell....first world problem, I know 😆

Aw Dvb that sucks for all of you. Hopefully she'll have a quick and relatively painless recovery.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,267 ✭✭✭✭DvB

Thanks for all the nice comments folks, its much appreciated.

She's in a cast up to her knee at the moment (bright blue too!) and we've to go back to the fracture clinic in temple street next Friday to meet the specialist again, get another x-ray & see if the bone displacement has settled down or needs surgery. There's about a 2-1 chance she'll need surgery though.

Either way she's looking at being in a cast/boot for her confirmation in April and will be out of GAA action for 12-16 weeks. She's more gutted about her GAA than anything else!!

Have to say I admire your daughter for being gutted about missing GAA, love young people with drive and also the fact she's missing out on playing our national games. Does she play both?

  • Registered Users Posts: 913 ✭✭✭buzzerxx

    Swisssh.

    What was that?

    That was your life.

    Do i get another one?

    No.

    😁

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,267 ✭✭✭✭DvB

She does, camogie and football. Her brother plays football and hurling too (I coach both of them). Both prefer the hurling/camogie though (like myself) Bizarrely both out injured currently, her brother will be back next week though.

She's going to go mad missing so many games... gutted for her myself, as are her team mates, so many of them contacting her this evening to see how she is.

Ah brilliant, love the hurling myself, best game ever. I played it till I was 34 and then realised the legs were gone! 😄

Hopefully she makes a quick recovery and gets back doing what she loves.

    Hows everyone weekend going?

Little man just cut a canine tooth through so our house closely resembles a war zone.

In the sun it’s warm but very cold other than that.

Watching the rugby with the stove on. Pretty cold today.

Relaxing today, took a trip out to the Cliffs of Moher yesterday. A little breezy as to be expected but got a good day for it all the same with bursts of sunshine coming & going. Never been before, so at least I can say I’ve been there now.

I've never been to the cliffs either, must try and get over there at some stage!
