Tax on sale of a UK Company

    If an Irish resident is the sole director and owner of a UK company then sells it to another UK company do they pay UK or Irish CGT?

    Uk CGT.....but it is also subject to Irish CGT, however you will get a credit for the UK tax suffered....

    Get professional advice as the above is very basic....

    Definitely get PROFESSIONAL advice as unless the U.K. company derives its value from U.K. land, a non-resident would not be within the charge to U.K. CGT as you’ve described. I.E. what you have said is basically wrong.
