Just a side note, because I'm not discounting the value of the day trip and doing something different with family or friends on this.

But purely from a duty free perspective, better off booking a 17quid day return to say, Glasgow with Ryanair. 5x50g Amber leaf inboard is 45euro.

I think a carton of Benson is either 40 or 50 euro.

I don't smoke myself but keep an eye for friends. The duty free prices in Dublin airport itself seem a rip off in comparison.

£106 (€122) for for box 600 Benson in Birmingham airport. There's €58 saving already.

btw Ryanair prices have jumped and are €60 a carton

Birmingham is handy as you have Resorts World within the airport/NEC complex, so not worrying on flights.

Booked the Rosslare to Fishguard ferry in July. €60 for the 3 of us is a great bargain.

Don't go to the Canary Islands they are duty free so you can only bring back your duty free allowance.

These are indicative, you can bring as much duty paid in as you like if you have a valid reason. Smoke 20 a day and only go on 1 holiday to Bulgaria and you can bring back 7k smokes. Have a wedding in and you can fill your van coming back from France.

The staff will sell you as many as you want either way, its not their problem if you get stopped. I always use club class so they change your boarding card on the Rosslare Pembroke Bluestar-1 to a card with the club class entry number on it so no way could your card be flagged.

Easier I would have thought to cover up 4 on the way home in a car than if carrying as 4l, inc bottles must weigh at about 5kg so your bag is going to be quite heavy.
