I just hold on it and there's a delete option.

I don't know what else to tell you. Even hovering over the suggested search causes an x at the end of it so you can delete.

Ignore the first and third sentence. Deleting all of then will remove login details for sites etc.

So hover over the item you want to delete. Hold down shift and hit the delete key.
