    Absolute bullshit.

The number of feckups I've seen from native sparks and plumbers is unacceptable.

Plenty of foreign tradesmen of good standing are more than capable of working here.

The Irish Electrical industry is engaged in obstructionism.

This is true, way too much focus on academic qualifications (a lot of them absolutely useless), technical/trade schools gone by the wayside.

The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution.

The Entryism process: 1) Demand access; 2) Demand accommodation; 3) Demand a seat at the table; 4) Demand to run the table; 5) Demand to run the institution; 6) Run the institution to produce more activists and policy until they run it into the ground.

In the local town here we have one traveller who does great work in the community, he was even mayor for a while, we have another who was president of the rugby club for two terms, another prominent referee, all well respected, some more workin away in local factories and shops and the like, not a bother on them cool as ya like.. These people have done more for local perception of that "community" than pavee point or any traveller reps have ever done.. They or any of their families can walk into ant hostelry or shop in town and do their business , other families not so much

"John" could start his time and be finished it by 41 years old, then have another 40 years of productive work ahead of him. Taking into account the rising retirement age by the time he's done :)

  • I was looking at the online curriculum of the Atlantic University or whatever they call the collective of the colleges in the north-west. An absolute proliferation of what look like Mickey Mouse degrees in everything and anything.

I saw a Tik Tok video of a tower crane operator on a site in Dublin who moved a Cadbury's Creme Egg from one part of the site to another, pure gold.

Last two mature guys I heard of going after apprenticeships

One lad was around 28, in full time employment and decided to drop it to go into an electrician apprenticeship cause he could move back down de country. Last I heard, he was doing well.

Other lad was over 30. Last I heard about him, he was throwing a strop because his master asked him to carry de tools and cleanup a few weeks into it. Doubt he lasted long.

Well in fairness lots of people of that age and older train to be nurses and doctors, they actually like taking older people.
