I changed Internet provider from Sky uk to a cheaper alternative cLled Premier talk. However I've tried every password / access key written on the router . How may digits are normally in it . Its infuriating at this stage.

Which password do you mean? The Wifi Passphrse, or the password for the actual router?

The OP is saying its the password he needs to connect to the web. Its not yet clear to me(ex Broadband Tech Support agent), whether he means the Wifi passphrase, or the DSL/Fibre connection password.

If he’s on dsl and he got the router provided by the isp, then I expect pppoe is already configured but it’s worth checking

The inter net light is on rhe router and when I look for available WiFi and click on the one I want it says enter pass . I've tried whe password / key and access key

Connect via lan cable and access the gui and copy/paste the password there or change to something memorable

Check the letter you got from the ISP, the Wifi code might be on it.

Also, can you describe the cables that came with the router, if one is an ethernet cable can you plug your computer into the router temporarily?

OP, I’m presuming you have

Correctly identified the WIFi name on the drop down selection that might include those of your neighbours.
That you typed in the precise WI-FI password with upper and lower cases as shown on the router. Eg DwexZ13ptuZ4.
That you have indeed identified the correct WI-FI password written on the router itself. Turn over on all sides just to make sure you have it.

Often it’s the most simple things that trip us up.

Ah there's nothing in the letter except to say someone will call to set things . They did but I hadn't received the router yet at that time , so I'll give them a call on Monday. Cheers anyway.

I got it . There was a ] symbol that I took as a bracket , when it was a J !! So back online , whoo hoo 😬 though it has cost me a 19 streak on Wordle 😡
