    Hi all,

I am wondering if there is any way to rent a private site/piece of land in Ireland? I'm currently looking into purchasing a mobile home and living in it for a few years while saving up for a mortgage but would of course need somewhere to put it. Is this even a thing? Is it legal? A quick Google search didn't give much info. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Buy a camper van and you don't even need a site!

Loads of them in gardens around where I live. Little cabins too. Some even on sites with no houses. All can be seen by anyone walking along. Been there years and no problems at all. I know one busy body who reported the whole lot of them a while ago. nobody cares. What are they going to do, go around and tell people to remove them and put the people in them out on the street. Dont think that will happen.

Yep, technically not permitted, but no judge in this country would insist on destruction or removal unless it was an eyesore or causing problems.

But putting it on a standalone site that is not a residential site would see swift action.

So a garden room in someone's garden (ideally related) is probably the best option
