Unmarried fathers rights?

I am curious how much access is generally granted to unmarried fathers in Ireland? How old would the child be before over nights were included? What would need to happen for an order for access to be supervised? Is supervised access very rare? Do previous convictions or a violent history effect a mans ability to secure access in court? Thanks in advance.
