Solis Data Logger Thread

Yeah, the username/pass for the old DLS-W logger is admin/admin, but new S3-WIFI-ST is admin/123456789. I got stuck with this also and I can't remember where I found that password. It came up buried in some PDF.

I also tried and couldn't so took it as not compatible.

just a hint for anyone installing the new fangled data logger... when 'bonding' with the home wifi, I found the direct connection to the home wifi worked a treat (Step 4 in the setup manual.. one-key configuration I think it's called), you login directly to the home wifi and it sorts the datalogger - home WiFi connection itself without messing around with Solis wifi first.

There was a big update on firmware during the night maybe that could be the cause.

Reliability issues must be due to poor wifi signal, never had any issues with mine but it is also about 50cm from a dedicated attic access point so signal is about as close as you can get to 100%

Solis api only gives you access to soliscloud data which is 5 mins old and not great. I did manage to get them to change the refresh on mine to 60 secs for the cloud data too so I set up a backup that pulls data into HA from the cloud if the modbus tcp fails for any reason

though you'll likely have to pay import duty on it

or one of the HA folks on here might need the previous model

Update: just went ahead with a S3-WIFI-ST ordered from Bimble Solar

My dad's one liked like that when we set up up initially. After a few hours it seemed to update itself....hopefully you will be in the same boat too

Hey folks, quick question as I'm struggling to get the answer anywhere.

Ive just added the solar man integration this morning on HA, but seems to be falling at the simplest hurdle.

Ive pulled the inverter IP and serial number from the app/soliscloud but the serial number is being rejected, I think cos it's alphanumeric

I've tried the auto discovery option of 0.0.0.0 and 0 for S/N but still zero data

Any guidance even pointing at the right place would be very much appreciated

Thanks for the quick reply, it appear I have the WRONG stick alright. Neighbour who has solis also has it working. His data logger serial is numeric where as mine is longer and alpha numeric, so looks like not a runner.

so off to nail down plan b now… and there was I thinking this would be easy 🤦‍♂️
