Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pre-ordered the Switch, will try and get the pro controller as well but it was sold out.

I live in the UK 😭 I can't even open that link without it bumping me to the UK store 😂.

I am sure it will appear on Amazon or the Nintendo shop so I can pre-order.

    Another new enemy:

    [Golem]

If he finds someone he sees as an enemy, he'll start a fight, so be careful.

It seems to be often seen on "Sorashima", which floats in the sky above the clouds.

Also looks to be what drops the flamethrower part.

    OLED console looks quality.

    Any word on dungeons?

€20 deposit just done in my local Smyths can't wait to have it in my hands.

There is a special ability for traversing that'd be very handy for dungeons, caves , underground areas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Have they said if there'll be twice as many Korok seeds?

I can't find that maraca shakin man child anywhere in botw if he is airborne in years I'll cry

If you mean Hestu, he's in one of 2 places. I didn't find him for ages, but that was probably because I avoided Kakariko Village for as long as possible. You will find him around where I placed the X.

After that, he's not far from where the Master Sword is found. That's where he remains forever after.

After your first encounter and you do his quest he can be found at a few various stables and finally will make his way home. Even if you don’t find him again at any stable he will always be at home once you arrive there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,201 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

He's not at any of them so far so I think I'm gonna try for the water elephant divine beast tonight then to hyrule forest once that's done.

An opinion piece response to the 10 min gameplay.

But a nugget I wasnt aware of which is a nice fun fact:

Ultrahand, the name of Link’s object-manipulating power in Tears of the Kingdom, is a reference to this 1960s Nintendo grabber toy designed by Gunpei Yokoi, who would later invent the Game Boy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,471 ✭✭✭SuperBowserWorld

I wonder will Link be able to shake those maracas in the new game. The joycons would actually be useful for that.

Now, Nintendo will steal my idea and turn it into a 60 quid standalone game. 😁

    Link's Crossbow Maracas Training.

I can just envision the Switch nightmare of this. 😂

The Wiimote + nunchuck gets a lot of flack. But it's perfect for pointing at things super quickly and accurately on screen.

They really should have provided backward compatibility for it on Switch + it would have given them more excuses to sell more controllers.

Maybe it'll happen yet, with the next switch(Wii + GameCube support) and the online service.

Anyone who wants to price gouged and buy from somewhere that won't be offering a warranty if their imminent demise truly happens GameStop have both the Special Edition and Oled at €10 higher than everyone else.

Everything in Gamestop is 5-10 euro dearer at launch and their "sales" are absolutely pathetic.

Anyone who gives them a penny need their heads checked

Agreed. I wouldn't shed a tear if Gamestop croaked it, rip off company. I'd rather it was them instead of Argos who were pulling out of Ireland in the next few months.

I think they already have, shutting down the Irish stores anyway.

No need to hate on a company and one of the few to provide us with an opportunity to buy games in a bricks and mortar store. Choice is better than no choice, if they close it’ll only be Smyths left. I’ve had many a happy experience buying from them over the years, sure their prices aren’t great but they’ve been good to have around, only place to buy amiibos for years/ friendly staff etc etc. lots of positives, no need to dwell on the negatives. (Rant over) :)

Deftly accurate hand eye coordination was needed for many BOTW shrines it's what made me give up in the first place years ago the new weapons and crafting for Tears looks like it needs pinpoint accuracy.

Am thinking of cancelling my collector edition and just going with the NSO 2 for €99 voucher instead. Advance Wars and Tears would be my two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,197 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Nintendo Prime said about a month ago that there would be a TOTK Direct on the 12th April. They had gotten their hands on some PR e-mail. Today always made sense to me as it was a week after the release of the Super Mario Bros Movie and exactly a month before TOTK releases. Being a day later doesn't make much of a difference. If this really is the last peek before the game releases, then I expect there will be spoilers in this video. There's still so much that remains unknown.

The BOTW launch trailer was around 3 min 40 seconds and didn’t spoil anything, at least that I remember, but may depend on your personal definition of a spoiler. It was a pure hype trailer and arguably the best trailer Nintendo has produced. That trailer score is so good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,393 ✭✭✭Grassey

Not that much more that remains unknown. Sure it's just repackaged and glorified DLC. Run about, have sword break, swap out and repeat. Nothing new at all in there.

Run about, have sword break, swap out, slap a mushroom to your shield and repeat.

    Fixed :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,286 ✭✭✭jj880

Dont like to admit it but at the moment I agree. Have a preorder in that wont be charged until cart is shipped but need to see something. Hopefully new trailer tomorrow will show a big reveal.

Edit: or is this post some kind of p!ss take? 😅

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,393 ✭✭✭Grassey

@jj880 it can be a bit of both 😉

I expect I won't like it for the same reasons I didn't like BOTW as much as prior Zelda games, but I still have the pre-order in and will give it a shot.

Fusing stuff doesn't really make up for breaking weapons which is such an annoying game gimmick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,197 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

The secrecy around this game is unreal. Nintendo only revealed the name of the game last September, they had previously said the name would reveal a big secret. Did it?

The contrast in coverage between what BOTW got and what TOTK has gotten is night and day. BOTW had lots of revelations and a playable demo almost a year prior to release.

Are there dungeons this time, are there shrines? Is there underwater sections, are Korok seeds back, or is there something else as a replacement? We haven't seen any villages or NPC's. What are those green swirly mounds? Are they the Shrine replacements? They seemed to be only on the ground, but you could see a couple of of them on the islands in the sky in the last trailer.

Edit: We do see Kakariko Village from a distance with the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab in the foreground.

Pre-ordered today - first time I've preordered a game in years. Was able to get TotK and Fire Emblem Engage for 99 for the two with the eShop game voucher - they give you a five back in eShop credit too. Bit of a no-brainer when it's 70 by itself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,197 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I do not want to hear any mention of paid DLC in this trailer.

I wonder who will get first dibs on reviews ?

Will Edge Magazine have a review early ?

Not long now to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,197 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I think Nintendo are going to be very careful about who gets to review this game. They don't want any leaks.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Official Trailer #3 (Nintendo Switch)

That was amazing. It is spoilery for those thinking about whether or not to watch it. But I think you have to watch it. I don't regret watching it.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!

Hope Steph Sterling gives it a 6.9 this time for **** and giggles and we all sit in to watch the internet lose its mind over the score of one reviewer again.

I'm so hyped, I've pretty much written off most of May to enjoy it.

    That was epic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,471 ✭✭✭SuperBowserWorld

I'm not going to watch that !! 🥴

Thinking, when BOTW came out, hardly anyone had a machine to play it on.

Now, 100+ million machines to play TOTK and a load of new Zelda fans.

I hope it's amazing. If Nintendo pull this off again on the puny little Switch it'll be a real kick in the arse to the rest of the industry to pull their socks up. 😁

Looks wonderful. Couldn’t help but get a vibe of Mario Galaxy off some of the scenes (a good thing!).

Nintendo Japan just released art of a certain antagonist character. Avoiding spoilers, so ye can go look it up yourselves.

No spoilers or I will hunt you down Snake Plissken style with my eye patch

I swear to all the gods if anyone spoilers this as long as you are on this site I will find you and ruin everything you hold dear.
