Well you forget a large portion of the audience are completely cognizant and aware of the wink and nudge nature of the enterprise. They know it’s an alternative facts silo, they know it’s a political machine for delivering talking points to them to go disseminate out into the world to ‘own the libs’ and prevent a watergate from ever happening again. The entire point of the network is to insulate one political party from criticism.

On the contrary, I'm well aware of that.

A lot of Fox viewers tune in because what the channel broadcasts salves and encourages their already solidified beliefs. And if Fox has to muddy the waters now and again to continue doing that, they'll just let that pass.

FFS, the likes of Alex Jones still has viewers, because people believe he's fighting the good fight. It wouldn't surprise me, in the least, that a significant number of Fox viewers won't even bat an eyelid if the network came out and admitted to lying about a large number of items. They'll just park that and continue watching because something, something, CNN, communism, tHe lEfT...ad nauseam.

Dominion has no interest in trying to convince Trump voters of anything. There reputation was damaged and they're seeking compensation.

    unfortunately this is very accurate.

Tucker could call his ‘fans’ stupid redneck c&nts’ tonight and Trump could call them all gobshites for not getting vaccinated or whatever. But as long as they ended it by saying something like ‘watch out for those librards /Biden/Fauci/they’ll steal your guns etc and join us again tomorrow night ’ they’ll all be back

Perhaps an out of court settlement by Fox for an amount less than demanded by Dominion? But will Dominion also want an admission of guilt by Fox to protect their reputation?

I presume they will want an admission of guilt/fraud by fox and a metric tonne of money for losses.

Fox will not lose reputation as a valid news source simply because they are not a news source... by their own admission.

So hopefully it will as embarrassing as possible for all involved with fox. Their cult will continue to watch of course. But they just need to made a laughing stock. When they are called for questions at any press conference, be it political, sports, entertainment, whatever, people should smirk. Genuine journalists should be embarrassed to work for them.

In other news, speculation abound as to what this means...

I read an article just this morning on this issue.

Apparently , Bragg has asked for further interviews with Weisselberg in the last week or two.

The fact that Weisselberg has now replaced his Trump funded lawyers with his own brings forth the suggestion that Bragg has uncovered more crimes implicating Weisselberg and Trump and Bragg is now offering him a deal to start talking.

The thinking being that having spent a few months in Rikers Island (A raging shithole by all accounts even by US Prison standards) a man of his age is probably not that keen on having more time added to his sentence, especially given that Trump hasn't exactly shown him much loyalty in return.

Dominion would want repair of their good name. That is a grovelling apology, Their future reputation is important. More important than the damages cheque.

Since the Bragg Grand Jury is about to recess for April (!) unless something indictment-like happens today, it's tune in for the summer replacement Apprentice: Grand Jury edition in May.

I had a boss on a GJ for 6 months (he was the foreman.) It's really REALLY tedious and they get long breaks, so no surprise. So, I think the media focus will shift back to the Georgia case now, unless something happens in the E. Jean rape suit.

Leaves TFG leeway to wander around holding rallies. He'll keep the $$ coming in that way.

Indeed but what is an apology without repercussions surely some heads will have to roll as part of it.

I think whatever comes of this Dominion are going to want accountability to be seen to be done in public so its unlikely they will allow some out of court settlement with an NDA on the compensation amount. And they will want a very public apology by Tucker Carlson et al on air during his show.

At the end of the day Dominion are an electronic voting machine company and as a business they live or die on running a secure software system to count votes that is tamperproof. A false allegations of the US election being rigged from Venezualea by hacking their software is an existential threat for a company who deal solely in the integrity of elections. Fox then amplified those false allegations hugely and gave belief to the lie that the election was rigged. Which then put Dominions entire reputation and its future as a business on the line. Its as serious as it gets for a company who sells voting counting machines and software.

Erm, released about half way through the sentence is normal assuming you behave. It says in the article "normal prison policy".

Not the win that you think it is.

Once he has served his time, fair enough. Don't really see the cause for huge celebration though.

Hope his stint in jail time taught him a lesson and he will be reformed and a law abiding citizen going forward. And not be influenced by the Trump fella in future

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,040 ✭✭✭TheIrishGrover

That's pretty sad. This is what they have been reduced to.

The cult posts are now like some "big shot" bully who is now in his 60s and sitting alone in a bar nursing his drink. No friends, no family. No job. No achievements. Nothing to show for 60 years. Every now and again getting the energy to stand up and snarl at people before flopping down to mumble to himself as the glance at him briefly without moving. Bar staff gently ushering him out the door at the end of the night as he mumbles threats and boasts about being a hard man....

Bit pathetic really. Oh how the "mighty" have fallen.

Released for good behaviour and committal to a halfway-house post release, not due to Tucker's video.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,040 ✭✭✭TheIrishGrover

Sssshhhhhhh..... give them this "win".... we read it but let's pretend... its the nice thing to do.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,456 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

He still has a lovely criminal record to go along with that as well, along with millions of pictures of him dressed as a weird drag viking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,335 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

Well he did say in an interview that he felt duped by Trump (although stopped short of saying he wouldn't vote for him if he ran again).

My guess is he'll probably wind up presenting a show on Fox.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 569 ✭✭✭maik3n

Perhaps not presenting a show of his own but most definitely will be appearing as a contributor of sorts, I reckon.

He will also no doubt be doing a lot of touring various media outlets, speaking about how the J6 terrorists are being treated worse than Hitler. 🤦‍♀️
