Hosting an air bnb guest from India - requesting phone number for visa

Hi,

my guest requested a phone number for the accomodation for her visa request. Is this normal and should I provide it ?

Probably required on the contact details section on the visa application. Assuming your accomodation has a phone number then why would you be hesitant to give it out to a guest who has booked into the place?

It was my personal phone number which I now realise is a bad idea - will get a new number

You could check with DFA to see if this is a normal request.

Ok that makes sense. I had visions of you running a B&B or business or some such and not wanting to send someone the phome number.

I'm guessing she just needs an Irish contact number on the form, most probably nothing nefarious.

Yes of course you should provide it-it should be on their booking anyway as soon as the booking is confirmed.

I prefer my guests to contact me by phone than any other way, as if I need to contact them asap, I can ring them.

When a visitor is entering the country, they need to provide the details of their accommodation.

It's very normal. Immigration need the contact details of the host or accommodation. But I thought that Airbnb shared this with guests anyway, once a booking is confirmed.
