Airalo app has been mentioned on this site before. I havent used it but have a look at it

Used a physical T-mobile SIM when in NY and worked flawlessly

Available on amazon for various lengths of time

Just needed to register it to activate for dates required

I used Gigsky back in October in NYC. It worked great. I've nothing else to say

I’ve used Holafly. Works perfectly and has unlimited data allowance.

I used Airalo. It worked fine. I had an extra €50 or so on my bill alright, but I think it was because I allowed someone else to use my phone as a hotspot for a while.

In ‘global’ countries such as the US, Australia, Asia and South America, it costs from €4 for 1GB to €38.50 for 20GB, with a range of price tiers in between.

By comparison, Eir’s GoMoWorld eSim app costs €20 for 15GB in the US and €20 for 20GB in Australia, with other non-EU countries similarly less expensive.

I actually bought a physical T-Mobile SIM on Amazon for travelling to NY (Nov 22) and had no issues with it. Cost around €30 IIRC

Dual SIM phone so for data only but had the option of using the local number. Could be useful for bookings etc.

You'd be using the US SIM for data. Irish number/SIM switched off
