Don't see any info anywhere on live coverage of the Joe Mac, its pretty shameful of the association and all involved to dismiss this.

you got it 100% C4000, they throw around a few sound bites every so often " ahh sure arent such and such [3rd/4th tier county] doing a great job to keep hurling alive at all" the most patronising sh**e imaginable

truth be told apart from a few mavericks and genuine hurling lovers the GAA never had a REAL interest in promoting and expanding the game outside of the top 10/12 counties

They feel as though they have done their rightful duty then annually by showing live coverage of the Joe McDonagh Cup final

there is an urgent need of a dedicated GAA [or Hurling only] channel to provide well deserved exposure to these lower tier tournaments

Bizarre scoreline. Kildare put so much into the league campaign.....very harsh for them to have first round of the championship 6 days after losing the final.

Been at plenty of matches, the offaly v kildare and cavan v Leitrim games last week were the most enjoyable games in terms of competitiveness with evenly matched teams going all out to win.

Good to see that 2 Joe McDonagh matches are being streamed this weekend.

Kildare have been a big let down in the Joe McDonagh. Having almost gone up to Div 1 they could find themselves in the Christy Ring next year again. While they should have enough to get over Down it's anything but guaranteed.

On another note while they haven't got he results but Fermanagh in the Nicky Rackard, considering they've only one club, have put in some very good displays.

Sligo have also done very well in the Christy Ring this year.

While few would agree with him i still think the All-Ireland Intermediate should be brought back. The issue with everyone outside of the top tier is they just don't play enough games. For example with an Intermediate All-Ireland that was straight knockout you could have the following.

Munster with Kerry and the others Intermediate teams. Leinster Carlow. Kildare and Laois along with Kilkenny, Wexford, and Dublin Intermediate teams. Ulster everyone bar Antrim who would have an Intermediate team. Connacht Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo along with Galway Intermediates.

I could never understand why counties didn't use it morewhen it was there, as it is was perfect way to blood younger players. If it was brought back it would give McDonagh Cup etc teams a bit of extra game time with teams who would be a steep above them but not lightyears ahead.
