Zetor Ztr mower very good and runs very silent compared to other brands

Why are drum mower so much cheaper than disc mowers?

I saw a Minos 165 drum mower in a dealers recently. 2750 euro new. It looked well built in fairness. Anyone have one?

I’ve one of these, bought new in 2003. Mows about 25 acres a year. Cover starting to get a bit tired now, but never had an issue

Go for an 8ft Krone disc if you can at all. From personal experience a 5'6" or 6' drum mower is very slow compared to the 8' disc mower.

I have an 8 foot topper which is new. I’d be nervous of bed mowers when buying second hand. I wouldn’t be lucky with machinery

There's probably nothing wrong with a drum mower, look at all the zero grazers cutting with them. The only thing is six foot is a bit narrow if you are heading in to a handy field. Not to mind forty acres.

I bought a new Samasz 2.1 meter (7 footish) drum mower back in 2008. Cuts about 45 to 50 acres every year since. Gives a great cut without any problems. I would love to upgrade to a disc mower but hard to justify the cost. The drum mower are the finest but abit annoying having to get down to to move it to and from the cut position. They are also heavy too and stick back along way compared to a disc mower. A new 8 foot disc mower is bloody expensive these days. I'd be slow to buy a secondhand mower.

Have a pz 6 foot drum mower, very few hours clean no rust about 10/12 years,a guy wants to buy it, am wondering what's it's value as these are hard to come by 2nd hand
