Accident

My sister niece and my brother not the husband. Where in an accident on Saturday returning home.

Car coming towards them was driving in the middle of the road and collided with them forcing the car to roll over of the road.

3 Days later the local Garda is only taking the statements. Surely this should happened on the day. The 3 spent a night in hospital

Get used to everything happening at a snails pace. In my own similar experience it took 3-4 years before all was resolved. Hope your sister, brother and niece are all ok.

I hope they are ok.

I suppose AGS didn't do anything on Saturday and Sunday because they were in hospital.

As long as they are on the case now it should be ok but as mentioned above don't expect things to happen very quick.

Main thing is to get on to insurance and get back on the road.

The Garda was just at the house. As far as he is concerned the guy was 3/4 of the way over the road.

She was asked if wanted to do the guy for Dangerous driving but my brother thinks she won't.

If it was up to the husband (brother) he would. 3 people could have died because of this guy driving. shocking to let him away with yet

Yeah, I just thought it was up to the DPP whether any charges were brought. Your post made it sound like the Guard was asking your sister to make the decision. Maybe he just didn't want to have to do the work to present to the DPP.

She would be a witness. So if she wouldn't testify in court, no case.

The fact that it looks like the car rolled to the off side of the road would suggest that both cars were in the 'middle' of the road

Glad everyones OK but leave it to the Gards/DPP to decide if they have enough evidence to support a charge of dangerous driving which unless there are extenuating circumstances would be unlikely to result in an outright ban
