Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Get in, a goal away against teams outside the top six or something.

Either way, we've scored first, light the beacons!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Wow, I’d be pissed if the same goal was given against us.

    Won’t complain though!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

Why is the mighty nunez on the bench again??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,011 ✭✭✭Mr Crispy

I'd be raging if that stood against us. But **** it, we'll take it. And that one from Salah too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Leeds should be annoyed with that.

    I'll take it though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,202 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

    2-0 Salah

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Looked like handball but fcuk it. I'll take that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Jota has been poison but that was excellent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Even if I agree with you, why now? Why are you bringing it up now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,394 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

It's the correct call though given the change to the handball rule. Stupid rule though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Was it not a handball or just too bar back for var?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    So stupid by Allison.

Literally forcing us into a situation Fabinho has to take a yellow when there was no need.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

Missed the 1st half hasn't been great by looking at comments on here, but will take it and won't complain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 677 ✭✭✭FernandoTorres

Happy with that but Leeds playing right into our hands applying no pressure at all. They haven't even committed a foul yet. I'll take more of the same second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

Because I just turned on the TV to see he was on the bench again that's why

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Interesting to see the positions Trent is taking up tonight. It’s clearly not his usual role as a right wing back, but it’s not quite in midfield either. Seems to be playing in the half space between a right back and number 6.

It’s actually great to see Klopp being more flexible though, it’s going well so far but even if it wasn’t, it’s the type of thing we need to see more of. This season is already written off so we might as well take a few risks.

Positives from the first half is that the team are pressing really well when they lose the ball and quickly recover.

Palace hit Leeds with 4 second half goals that were on the counter.

Instead of trying to break down 11 men we should be letting Leeds have the ball and hit them on the break.

Elland Road sounds like the stadium of a team about to be relegated - it's been like a morgue since kick-off. Must be only a small away section there too.

Bit of a dodgy goal to get us started but that's the rule these days - accidental handball is ok (as long as it's not the actual goal-scoring touch), and the Leeds player did thump it off TAA who had his arm pulled in to his chest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Haha, every time I see a replay of Trent’s handball I’m gobsmacked that the goal stood. It’s a shockingly bad decision but we’re long overdue being on the favourable side of one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Definite handball. Can only imagine it was deemed too far back in the move? There were 3 passes afterwards. Wasn’t there something about it having to lead directly to a goal? Then again they change interpretation every week so hard to keep up.

After Rice and Maguire yesterday, this week’s interpretation must be to play on regardless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Yes, definitely this.

    We break instead of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,582 ✭✭✭mormank

Just for the record it is because I regard you highly as a poster that I will never believe that was your position at the time, not the opposite. We would have been down to just VVD at some point in any season given Gomez and Matip's injury records. I think you know this yourself. So despite sounding quite condescending that's not how it was intended. Tone is lost in text unfortunately.

Literally the last player in our squad I’d expect that from.

Konate trying to play in 1st gear. 2-1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    This **** season

Brent Pope used to say in the rugby “never give a sucker a chance”. We’ve done just that.

    Absolutely unacceptable. Braindead ****.

    Savage pass from Jones!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,202 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

    Jota 33 and out

  • Administrators Posts: 54,112 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

That was a fantastic ball from Jones. Thought he made the wrong choice but it was bang on the money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Yes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    And fair play to Jones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,106 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

That's a lovely pass by Jones. Lovely finish Jota too, who I was saying should be taken off after 25! He told me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

The direction, the power and the spin on the ball. Ticked every box.

It was quite literally perfect from Jones. Need to see more of that from him.

Great ball by Jones and a well needed goal for both Jota and more importantly Liverpool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

One for each of the front three.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

    The 2 I would’ve taken off 😊

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

I've a feeling that's not the last goal we will see in this game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭steve_r

Lovely stuff from Jones. Saw the stat pop up that it was his third league start on the bounce, maybe he is one of those guys who really needs a run of games to shine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭dogbert27

Konate a relieved man! Great ball and finish from the 2 worst players! 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Looked like VVD went through the back of the Leeds attacker initially.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Neither are on the same wavelength as the rest of the team.

Thankfully they’re on the same one as each other though. 😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Well worked goal albeit being offside.
