    hi guys

I usually use Specsavers in Castletroy, their model of 2 glasses for the price of one has always got me but I dont know if this is good value as I have never used another optician in Limerick. Any suggestions for other opticians that are same value or cheaper while still providing a good service, ideally in the same area of town (Castletroy region)?

    Would you consider buying online?

I've bought quite a few pairs from Zenni.com, site is easy to use and once you have your prescription (just ask the optician for it)... selecting lenses and frames is simple. The website even has a 'virtual try on'.

I only really wear mine driving or if out n about and I dont fancy popping in my lenses... so I buy really basic pairs. One pair only cost me 6.95!!! The other pair were a tenner! LOL

Specsavers have very up to date diagnostic tools and for that reason alone, I think they are worth going to.

For a long time, I went to private opticians and ophthalmologists but now I just go to Specsavers. They can do pretty much most of the diagnostics that they do in the eye clinic and they will refer you to a specialist immediately if they feel the need - I know someone who went straight from Specsavers to UHL because of something found at an eye exam.

Eye checks aren't just about being able to see well, they are also about catching glaucoma, cataracts and other eye conditions early. But they can also catch other things such as diabetes, high blood pressure, MS etc. I don't have any vested interest in them, but I've always found Specsavers staff fabulous.

I use Glasshouse in the Jetland Shopping Centre, Ennis Road. Found them great to deal with and very knowledgeable. I used to go to Specsavers but just found they were trying hard to upsell addons that I didn't need.

Vision2 in Sarsfield are also worth a mention. Good service. I used to go to specsavers crescent but it’s too sales oriented and not a friendly user experience

Not working there by any chance, are you? Did you register here just to promote them?
