The campaign seems to the frozen / going snail pace now. No update from PublicJobs for more than 1 month after giving reference details! Any one experiencing the same?

Anybody heard any movement on offered positions outside Dublin.

Panelled reasonably well in the HEO Infrastructure stream but not a word.

Looks like the whole thing was a massive waste of time and effort.

I'm contacted almost daily by recruiters/companies for other roles but haven't heard anything since the panel interview. It does feel like it was a waste of time.

It's not a new issue, it has been like this for months.

I called them a couple of months ago and they said they were focussing on Dublin appointments only.

They could'nt tell me of any positions outside the capital to be made available.

Is there anyone here in the same boat or have ye heard anymore information?

Even though I passed the reference details to publicjobs almost 2 months back, no word about the progress on it. Really disappointing!

Have you contacted them since? I have no doubt the current situation is having quite an affect on normal operations, which is slow enough at the best of times. I joined the CS in 2017, it took close to 10 months from application to getting started.
Also a lot of staff across the civil service have been re-deployed to assist other departments, I assume PAS would be the same.

Absolutely nothing to do with the current climate, I've been contacting since last October.

I'm respectfully leaving them to it at the moment as everyone is currently running at the maximum.

Don't think the Panel has been exhausted or is finished. I know of a guy on it who is , I think , in the 20's and has heard nothing back.

Considering applying for the new positions advertised but not enough experience, any chance of being shortlisted with a L8 hdip and less than 2 years experience. For those made it through, any tips on application form writing? Thanks!

Anyone in on the Software Developer - Senior ICT Specialist in the Civil Service for 2023? I've an interview coming up in May. I haven't worked in Civil Service before and just wondering has anyone any insights on possible questions or things to look out for?

I've just done the interview for the Digitial Business Engagement stream. Look at the competencies in the booklet, they'll ask you questions based on those. Have answers prepared for those, based on the STAR system.

I got asked about management versus leadership, the only random thing that came up really

are the salary scales for these jobs Engineer grades or base level Civil service grades ?

I saw the recent cybersec job was Engineer grade - and I'm curious is that the first time an IT role was seen as an engineer ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 791 ✭✭✭TestLink

For HEO grade, salary is the below. Unless explicitly specified as EG2 grade, this is the salary that is applicable.

The grades are HEO. I think the NCSC is the only civil service body using the Engineer grade scheme for IT roles?

The Garda used Engineer Grade 1 for a recent digital forensics role which I thought was really odd as the starting salary is quite low.

The Engineer grade role 2 and above doesn't allow flexi time either from what I remember. May be important for some

Congrats, which stream as I still have not heard anything

Congrats on making the panel. I made the panel too! In the application process they did not ask for location preferences, I tried calling the recruitment exec mentioned in the message I received confirming my place on the panel but couldn't get through. I couldn't take a job in Dublin and think I should let them know this out of courtesy. If I email info@publicjobs.ie will it get to the right person?

Just wondering if the results are out for the Software Developer Senior ICT Specialist (Higher Executive Officer) competition in the Civil Service? I got a message on Monday placing me on the panel for the Digital Business Engagement stream but have not heard about the Software Development stream even though I did the interview before it.
