    2ft to field 11.

Chilwell & Rashford out for me - thinking TAA & either Eze or Almiron (if he's fit).

Almiron played 35 mins today alright

I used my free hit earlier in the season so had been planning for this game week so ensure I'd 11 players.

My starting XI for it right now is:

    Raya,

    Trippier, Henry, Gabriel, Castagne

    Saka, Bowen, Salah

    Kane, Watkins, Toney

I've 1 free transfer had org planned Toney to Solanke as expected Toney would get a booking and it's part of a longer term move to free up funds to bring Haaland back into my side for game week 34. The way things are now though I'm thinking of just rolling the transfer and then I can do 2 in game week 33.

For me it has to be Eze, CP fixtures look great to the end of the season IMO. Newcastle on the other hand have some really tough ones, well next week vs Spurs and then vs Arsenal really. I'm a big fan of picking based on the fixtures in FPL and just prefer the CP run in.

Gone for Mitoma to Eze with my free transfer to bring me up to potentially having 10 for BGW 32 but will very likely take a -4 to get rid of Chilwell as well. Will wait on the move taking a hit as the few I have done so far this season have not gone well.

Many of us using Free Hit this week? Worth starting a separate thread for it, or just discuss here?

I'll be free hitting this week. I think a few will.

    Already have the button pressed!

thinking Grealish/Mitoma out for Ramsey/Eze - going with the form players. That will get me 11 with a -4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭highgiant1985

Personally I'd just do Grealish to Eze and play with 10 but not take any -4.

Reason being I don't see Ramsey making up the -4 and even if he did I would want Mitoma back for the future double game weeks Brighton will have so I think it's likely you'd be taking another -4 to make that happen in a future game week so any player coming in for a one off game week now needs 8 to just break even. I'd maybe consider a -4 this game week if it was someone with a double game week in game week 34 but not for Mitoma who already has a double in game week 34.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭highgiant1985

Yeah you can check chip usage here: https://www.livefpl.net/chips Live FPL is one of the main sites I use. Based on that in the top 10k 28.43% have used free hit and 42.8% of teams overall.

Personally I'd expect 80% of managers with the chip still available to them to use it this game week 32 with the rest either saving it for game week 34 with all the doubles or inactive managers who won't use it before the end of the season.

    Raya

    Trippier - Zinchenko - Mee

    Martinelli - Saka - Billing - Salah - Reed

    Toney - Isak

All playing, and Konate on the bench.

I think I have to get Watkins in. Toney out, Watkins in?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,731 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

Can afford Chilwell to TAA but have no GK (Kepa/Steele) so might take a -4 and just get Alison and Guehi/Mings

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,692 ✭✭✭sheroman01

On FH. Will be playing it relatively safe as I'm ahead in main league. I'll be keeping Kane and Saka, and won't gamble on Jesus. Below is what I'm on. I have a good feeling about Maddison, as a once off punt. I actually think he's been hugely unlucky not to haul recently, and their new manager bounce will probably kick in now, given their first match was against City! My decision is pretty much Toney (3-4-3) vs Madison (3-5-2).

    Ramsdale

    Robertson TAA Trippier

Saka Martinelli Salah Eze/Olise Maddison (or bench fodder, if I go with Toney)

Kane Watkins (or Toney as 3rd striker, if no Maddison)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,891 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

If your playing it safe on FH, I would consider that going for in form players, and not taking too many punts. Saka's form is borderline punty at this stage. Given he missed the penalty and Jesus is back, will he still be on penalties? Jesus has 4 goals in 3 games. I can't see any good reason not to get him in on a FH.

Don't get the love for your defence, Arsenal are leaking goals as are liverpool and newcastle, Villa on the other hand are flying defensively and you don't have any of them? TAA/Robbo didn't even start the Chelsea game where they got a CS.

I haven't looked at the numbers, but i'm sure Toney could easily be Jesus, and even keep Saka if you really wanted to. I would bet that Jesus would outscore Kane FF points wise this week too.

So are we all jumping back on the Liverpool bandwagon?

  • Registered Users Posts: 930 ✭✭✭JPup

Trent looked so good in midfield I’m not sure that even counts as a bandwagon, but if it does I’m definitely thinking about it even if it likely means a -4!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,782 ✭✭✭Cartman78

    Chilwell to TAA - simples

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,731 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

    Is Salah essential again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

The annoying thing now for FH people is that they don't have those players (Trent & Salah) permanently. The 3rd option is expendable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,891 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Do you need to play the FH now? might there be another opportunity in the future - at some point Newcastle and Brighton will have a double as will City and Brighton, your unlikely to have 3 Brighton and 3 newcastle players atm- maybe 3 max. Unless you only have like 7 players then may need to weight up the benefit of actually playing it, as you say - if you don't have TAA/Salah, they are likely to be 0.2/0.3m more expensive by the time you can get them in

Salah is Salah - he's always capable, and when Liverpool tick he usually ticks, though care needs to be taken and remember this is Leeds, a team that plays open football against everyone. I would like to think that Forrest will be a little more street wise, and think about their goal differences so won't be leaving gaps galore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I have 5 Brighton & Newcastle players at the moment, with a very easy transfer to make it 6. It's actually in one of my DGW 34 plans!

I think it was 7 players I would have had for BGW 32, fitness permitting, before transfers. Not worth taking hits this week either when I have the FH.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,339 ✭✭✭cullenswood

Any suggestions on changes to make here on my FH.

Chasing a guy 24 ahead of me

    0.6m in the bank

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,039 ✭✭✭Flaneur OBrien

My initial thought is to take out Jesus, he doesn't return enough in FF for me. Get someone in with a dgw coming up.

Very unusual to see a team without Haaland. Best of luck on his dgw!

Jesus has 4 goals in last 3 games????

Not sure about Kane, Tripper or white. Newcastle and arsenal both leaking goals, so are you relying on them for their attacking threat?

likes if Jota be worth punt on FH team. Kane likely only to score one if that whereas pool could score well being at home.

would probably be starting Ramsey over Olise,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I would commit to one of Trippier or Kane anyways. If you are chasing, just go for it.

Son could be the best Spurs option if you want to side with Spurs over Newcastle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,590 ✭✭✭skippy15

Hopefully you didn't take this advice 😕

Jesus scoring great and only back, and I bet he outscores halland, de bruyne, mitoma, rashford, combined this week,

FH active and plenty of messing done already. Pure standard looking FH 32 team still. Midfield will change as want to get a 2nd Liverpool attacker.

As of now with 0.9 ITB:

    Johnston

Trippier (can't go against him as everyone on non FH will own him and EO killer), TAA, Robbo

    Salah, Saka, Martinelli, Bowen, Maddison

    Watkins, Jesus

    Inversen, Mings, Guehi, Greenwood.

Robbo, Saka and Bowen will change more than likely. A villa defender in Mings will fill one spot maybe. Saka could be a Liverpool attacker. Just knocked in players at the time to catch a few price rises early in week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,692 ✭✭✭sheroman01

Nice team. Following the template but some nice picks in Bowen and Maddison.

I have the same team except Bowen, Maddison for Eze and Kane (playing 3-4-3).

I could drop Kane to Toney and upgrade Eze to Maddison, but most likely won't do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭shmeee

Maddisson passed the eye test last weekend v City and was dangerous. Surely he can click this weekend..... Bowen is pure punty and just a hunch of mine. Could all change. Love Gakpo/Jota beside them then over Saka. A bit differential then.

Selecting the right Palace player who will go off is a flip of a coin, and so difficult last few weeks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 309 ✭✭The Guru 123

I’d love a second Liverpool attacker but hard to call which 2 of Jota/Gakpo/Darwin will start. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭shmeee

As of now, I'm with Gakpo. As it's Gakpo v Bobby where they play but Jota is up against Nunez down the flank. Jota has started every game also in last number of weeks since the international break in March, while Gakpo hasn't and was rotated v Chelsea. Gakpo also can get more potential points as a MF. You can spin the narrative whatever you want if it favours your pick! It's all if's and but's. I'm 90% sure I'm gonna take the punt on Gakpo as my 3rd option.

*I see Gakpo may rise tonight and Saka drop so I'll do the transfer now on FH to save the potential funds. And might get Saka back in then for 0.1 less if decide.

If Saka drops in price, you're getting him back at 0.1 less regardless.

You don't get to decide, your FH team reverts to what it was during last GW.

I kinda read it as he'll have saka in FH team, but at a cheaper price as he'll have sold him and then bought him back cheaper.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,589 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

I read it as he is bringing in Gakpo for Saka, team will then revert with Saka in it and 0.1 loss.

There are no FTs when on a FH, so team after FH will revert to team he had during last GW.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭shmeee

Sorry, FH is active since the weekend. I'm chopping and changing so will have more ITB on my FH team if the above rise and drop happens.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,589 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

If Saka drops, you will lose 0.1 when team reverts.

You're not getting him back cheaper, you're getting him back with your TV -0.1.

Any change to your bank balance whilst the Free Hit chip was active will be lost.

  • Registered Users Posts: 699 ✭✭✭Newbie20

Thoughts on this for the Free Hit?

    Martinez

    Trent White Castagne

    Salah Martinelli Son Eze

    Jesus Jota Watkins

    Subs: Iversen, Billings, Trippier, Guehi

I don't own Saka on my non FH team / GW31 team. I got him in on my FH team at weekend. I have now got rid of him on my FH team. I can then buy him back for 0.1 cheaper on my FH team if he drops. Money is tight on my FH so I'll take every 0.1 this GW as may need it come deadline. I bought him for 8.6 at weekend, he may be 8.5 tomorrow or Friday. So if I want him, he will be 0.1 less for getting him on my FH team.

I probably had you going 'WTF is this lad on about' 😂

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,589 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

Fair enough, thought Saka was part of your team originally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

At the moment, I would think that Gakpo has the most xMins of Jota/Nunez/Diaz/Gakpo/Bobby. Salah is Salah. Bobby is the lowest, by far.

Gakpo really is being groomed for that false 9 role, to replace Bobby long term, and has settled now after a difficult start just after arriving into a broken team. Because he has settled somewhat now, I think he is a safe pick. He has started 5 of the last 6 now, the 1 game he didn't start was when there was mass rotation in the middle of having Man City, Chelsea & Arsenal games within a week. The 'main players' all started 2 of those 3, including him.

But, Jota probably has a higher ceiling than Gakpo. He is capable of a goal from nothing, even when not involved in the game. I honestly don't know who will start from Jota/Nunez. It's hard to drop Jota after a brace, but Nunez scored from the bench and hasn't started in a few games. Is Nunez due a start? Jota has started 4 in a row. I don't think Diaz is ready to start yet. He got around 15 mins on Monday so the natural thing would be to go to 25-30 mins next time out after the long injury break.

It's weird, Gakpo is probably a safer, boring pick whereas Jota is more punty and exciting. I think Gakpo is capable of getting assist points too so I might side towards him.

Based on this new Liverpool formation, I would nearly avoid Robbo, personally, especially if getting Trent in. He is sitting deeper a lot more. Are set pieces worth 2.0 more than Konate if they are playing as 3 CBs? I think an extra forward is a better use of funds IMO. Less riskier too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭shmeee

I was half looking at Martinez in goals, he could pull in these random out of nowhere scores (2 x 10pt's, 11 & 9 pointer this season) And on FH you like a punt.

Nice picks but I'm more for an Arsenal attacker over a defender. And a Villa defender also something to think about. You could gain serious ground with Son, Castagne & Jota if they hit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 309 ✭✭The Guru 123

Cheers for the reply, yeah I was leaning towards Gakpo myself and think I’ll go for him.

Seems a kind of dull enough FH week. Feel like every team will have 6 Arsenal and Liverpool and everyone will have Watkins. Most will probably have Trippier and Kane and then some Palace.

Maybe it’s like this every year though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,731 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

No GK this GW and potential issues ahead as have Kepa and Steele so was going to take a -4. 3 options really

    • Steele to Iversen
    • Kepa to Leno/Neto
    • Do nothing until have more ITB for a better replacement?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Getting rid of Chelsea defence long term is no bad idea IMO. Lampard will have them continue to leak goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

If we knew that Nunez was starting, would people on FH pick him (over Gakpo/Jota/Robbo)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭shmeee

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,891 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

I have no stats to back this up, but Nunez and TAA seem to play quite well when they play together, bit like Grealish and Haaland, it's just a pity that Nunez doesn't seem to start the last few weeks.
