Water nozzle issue

Hi All,

I am looking for help as I am unable to connect the water sprinkler I got from screwfix. The hose pipe head is different (it says 3/4 on the brass in the pictures below). Any idea what connector I need? Pictures below.

This is the product. I am unable to open up the black 1/2" connection hose. Do I need to apply a lot of force?

That hose is fairly non standard. With that end with the valve and the screw thread you'd usually treat it like you were making a connection to a tap. So I'd put either of the bottom two brass fittings on the valve (if they fit) then a short length of hose to get you back to the realms of standard hose fittings so you can put the orange push fitting on the end of the hose.

It is possible that the valve on the end of the hose will fit directly into the lawn queen (old name for oscillating sprinkler) if you remove the black male push fit fitting first. Note the flats on the fitting thats in the end of the lawn queen. If the fitting doesn't come out of the lawn queen easily don't force it as it may be glued in.

All of these companies want you to use one brand only as the fittings differ and wont/dont mate together.

On picture 1 the black bit looks like it screws off with a spanner and if you know the name of the water system is in use buy the same one in that make to screw on in its place.

From what I have it seems its not possible to connect and the black part on the sprinkler is very tightly attached.

It seems its best I get a new hose system. Would hoselock hose pipe system work? It's on sale at the moment

Hozelock is exactly what you need. Your current Hose set up is most unusual and you'll get very little to fit with it.

The wall mounted looks great but they are pricey. I will search for deals.

Op you just need one of these, the tap connector will screw on to the hose end (just remove the 1/2 inch adapter). All you need then is a foot of 1/2inch hose to connect the hose to the sprinkler with the female connectors.

There's nothing unusual about a 3/4 inch fitting, most tap connectors consist of two pieces, the inner one is 3/4 inch thread and the outer is 1/2, indeed the hozelock one pictured has this set-up.

Thanks so much.

The brass 3/4 connector is permanently attached to the garden hose, I would have to cut it with a scissor.

I think getting the Hozelock will be a simpler and "confirmed to work" option.

If you ever cut that then existing hose I doubt you'll ever find another fitting it will work with.

You don't have to cut anything, the connector will screw on to your 3/4 brass connector just fine.
