Black to yellow by Luca has to be SOTC so far,,,,, imo 😎

Nice move though taking them to court, PR etc.

No mention of refunds or compo from himself was there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,940 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Hearn has to put some sort of deterrence there in fairness. Because all sorts of loo la's will get similar ideas otherwise. And the way snooker is it is not as if you could have a load of security in the venue - just in case.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Ya

Something not quite right if they haven't been simply refunded in the meantime

I miss the reddish carpet :-/

9-7 now. Bit of a clash of styles and possibly personalities in this match. I don’t think Selby is too pleased with Selt’s vocal and slightly provocative manner around the table. Selby will win this match but I think Selt has him rattled a little bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,940 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Selby never seem to like anything that throws a snooker match from the norm, always seems like he can be 'got at' if the opponent is brave enough to stick in the game.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,220 ✭✭✭waynescales1

Yeah the “Jester” not doing too much jesting these days as was pointed out in commentary.

A phone goes off on Selt’s backswing and now the ref warns him any more choice language and he loses the frame, getting tense I’m enjoying this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,940 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Imagine if Selt lost the match v Selby for cursing.... he is not allowed to curse for the remainder of this match now.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Mother and father of all flukes for Selby there

Ah lads, unbelievable fluke, surely the most unusual of all time? I’d say Selt would love to unleash a few choice words after that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,940 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Selt could turn the air em 'blue'.

A fluke like that never happened poor auld Wille Thorne, when he missed that famous easy blue years ago.

Fair f**ks to Selt! - 9-8 down now. I'm enjoying this.

Just saw the end of the last frame and that blue was a laugh. They said that Robert Milkens beat joe Perry which I was shocked by. Did milkens play really well or did joe Perry **** the togs ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,384 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

haha now matt selt has been told we don’t need a running commentary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,940 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Some break from Selby in what looks like the last frame v Selt. To have pink and black tied up. Having to work like that to keep going under pressure seriously impressive stuff. Hope Selt manages to get to the second round for the first time - next year.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Yeah I think Selt went too far in the end and ended up rattling himself, shame cos he had Selby on the ropes there.

119 total clearance (or did the cue ball drop in off the final black), fair play to Selby, looking pretty relaxed there in the end, after being under a lot of pressure.

This lad looks he could go to the top

Si has great manner of playing the game. Plus it would be great if he did manage to give the World Championship a right rattle. Given the alleged stupidity of some of his compatriots.

tough snooker Mark Allen was in

miss rule's a joke - i used to think a player had only to make a legitimate attempt to hit object ball - apparently not 😒

Don't see Murphy coming back from this.

Allen in the vicinity of 'shredsville' there in frame five - had plenty chances to win

high-scoring frame that ended in ~85-79 to Bingham

    3-2 Allen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,165 ✭✭✭hayrabit

this match could also see a frame where both players score over 70 points. if Si gets foul points, then it's on

be a very rare occurence that i'd say

Allen back in the groove with a 67 break

    4-2 Allen up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,165 ✭✭✭hayrabit

Bingham flukes a red early doors in frame 6 - but to his detriment. goes for yella to opposite middle bag, rattles the jaws to leave Allen in, but Irishman misses when on 15. plenty available for Stuart here, albeit remaining ~10 reds in v awkward positions

long way to go in frame 6, i reckon

doing well - break still going, and snookers required for Allen

    4-3 bar the shouting

get yer skates on Mark !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,165 ✭✭✭hayrabit

not over yet! Allen in - wants one snooker

edit - 2 snookers. has Stuey in one now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,165 ✭✭✭hayrabit

"Ballrun" flukes last red, from being in a snooker

    4-3 to Allen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,165 ✭✭✭hayrabit

Bingham tries to bang pink into middle - rattles jaws, and lets Mark Allen in; who gets a well put together framewinning break of 72

5-3 Allen leads at end of sesh

    honn !!

Still has it all to do though

I spoke too soon as Murphy is forcing a decider.

Love to see Murphy go through, I think he has a real chance of going deep this year. I’d given up him at 9-6, great match.

there's one for Angles' highlight reel 😃 great safety and fantastic cueball control to navigate white back to baulk, from Si

savage red from s'Murph there directly after !!

    another SOTC contender that

Very happy for Si to get through. Quite an entertaining player to watch. I think I'd fancy his chances against Milkins in the next round.

    What a final frame.
