You didn’t ask me but it will probably be Tatum no matter what right unlesss Brown really goes off, that’s just how it’s set up

I suspected Draymond would get a suspension given his history and personally I hate this decision. I don't think it warranted a suspension firstly (though I will admit it's borderline), but most importantly I ABSOLUTELY HATE seeing series potentially decided by suspensions - I'd rather see teams win it on the floor. Draymond's suspension in 2016 cost GS a Championship and that was driven by LeBron completely milking it.

Sacramento were always going to be series favourites given they are 2-0 up and given current form it's unlikely Golden State were going to win 4 of the next 5; but now we'll have GS fans saying "they only won because Draymond was suspended" - which is unfair to Sac.

On the Finals MVP if the Celtics win it, it could honestly be one of 5 to 6 Celtics (Tatum, Brown, White, Brogdan, Smart, Williams). Tatum is the logical choise, but he was outplayed by Brown in last year's Finals (it wasn't even that close TBH). Finals MVPs typically go to the highest scorer on the winning team so it's most likely it will be one of those two in that order; but depending on the opponent and the nature of the games it could go to a defensive specialist like Smart or Williams, or to a 6th man impact-player like Brogdan, with White being a real dark horse too.

If you look at Boston's record with and without Williams, he really is the difference between them wining and not. He's by no means their best player, but he is the most important from a number of perspectives.

Just a couple of things from the Sac-GS games - Curry needs to play more. In his time off the court GS have been heavily outscored in both games. Steph played 37 and 41 mins in the first 2 games. He'll need to be playing 44+ for them to have any chance in turning this around. There's no point in resting him now, it's all or nothing.

They've also been outscored by over 30 points in both games on points from turnovers.

Considering they've lost both games by a combined 11 points, these are massive issues for GS.

Definitely Tatum, in the regular he lead in points and rebounds and was second for assists.

Jaylen has had a great start to the playoffs, so has White but I'm confident Jayson will lead most categories by the end of the playoffs.

He was in the same position last year and underperformed hugely in the Finals. Brown was by far the best Celtics player in the Finals. Anything can happen in the Finals. Iggy was MVP in 2015 remember.

If they do win it’ll likely be him, but don’t rule out others.

The issue with playing Curry more minutes is it’s a gear you can only shift into one or two times over the course of the playoffs.

In an elimination game, your star player should be on the floor 44 mins + (LeBron has played all 48 before) but a 35 year old with increasing wear and tear isn’t getting through multiple playoff series in that context.

Also need to consider his energy - he’s winning at present because of his pace and dynamism on the court. Does an extra 5 mins reduce that and you come out with less. It’s hard for me to want to doubt Curry / Kerr on this point. I think they’ll have him out there for as much as they feel he can handle without a drop off.

I agree but you won’t hear that from me, Iam in a few text threads with friends here and some are losing their mind about suspension acting like league is against us. I don’t agree with suspension but he didn’t have to do what he did and didn’t have to take the bait again, didn’t have to act the fool with the fans after. It doesn’t even matter, Sacramento have been better in nearly every regard and fair play to them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

    Agreed.

You'd have to wonder if this is the last straw for management? The incident in 2016, the KD stuff, the punch, now this. His production doesn’t warrant the contract he expects this summer, and someone is bound to offer him more money elsewhere…..not to mention Klutch would love to move him away from GS. I think he’s be a fool to leave as GS maximize Draymond and I think he’d look a shadow of himself anywhere else…..but it could all end pretty soon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Yeah but their margin of error is now so small that’s a chance they can’t take. They simply have to play him max minutes from now on in this series and hope he can rest in the next assuming they’re still alive. Not much point in resting him and losing.

    Predictions for tonight

Lakers vs Grizzlies: Lakers by 7/8 points

Bucks Vs Heat : Bucks by 12/13 points

Denver Vs Timberwolves: Denver by 5/6 points

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,300 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'll go Grizzlies with a comfortable win, Bucks to thump the Heat and Nuggets easily.

I think it will be, he started the year punching a teammate and is ending it stomping on an opposing player. He will never change, he is what he is, you take the good with the bad and the bad is starting to outweigh the good. This is basically the league saying that we are tired of your nonsense.

Fox has been the best player in this series, Curry needs to turn that around, it’s tough though, you can see him slow down when he plays a lot of minutes, he loses that bit of range

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

    kawhi looking incredible btw.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,300 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Giannis out tonight, that's huge. Playoff Jimmy might have a huge game now.

Heat could win this, imagine if they go 2-0 up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,300 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Memphis win by 10 without Morant, Heat down by 26 at halftime.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,976 ✭✭✭Carcharodon

Hopefully Memphis proves me right, I just think the Lakers are not good, obviously they got generational talent on that team but a decent team exposes them.

Denver just plugging along like it’s the regular season, it could be their year if they get a comfortable ride

the bucks threw a lot of 3 pointers, and a lot went in !! a missed chance for Miami, other nights would not have worked out like that

  • Registered Users Posts: 139 ✭✭johnnyk29

Lakers cost me an accumulator last night, thought they would do it even late in the 4th... Memphis got great effort from the role players like Kennard and Tillman.

I still think the Lakers will win in 6. I don't know why Brooks is poking LeBron calling him old!! It's not going to end well for him and motivating the rest of the Lakers as well

Defense is how the Grizzlies won that game. They were all over Davis all night, only for Hachimura it would have been a hammering.

Lakers offense looked awful for most of the night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,976 ✭✭✭Carcharodon

Brooks is a clown, he is trying to be Draymond or something, it all seems too fake, I think Memphis are trying to be this bad boy team, they are more fake ass gangstas than anything else, it doesn’t seem natural, imagine them playing an old school Pistons team or something, I just find them kind of odd

I'm getting the feeling the sixers are about to take off and beat the Nets by a big score. It's nine points right now but Embiid is just taking off right now and the Nets are struggling on offense. They've 42 points with just 1.32 left in the second.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,300 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Embiid not looking in good shape right now. It's been a very physical game. It's his right leg, not sure if it's his knee.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,300 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Sixers went from 18 up to five down, it's all tied up now. Embiid played on but doesn't look anything like his normal self. This game is insane.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,300 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Harden ejected now. I thought it was harsh. He got him in the nuts while in possession. I don't think he meant it.

Tucker with some much needed hustle! Great rebounding.

    Clippers are +8 vs Suns?

As Stacey King would say..."GIMME THE HOT SAUCE!"

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,319 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Kahwi remains the load management king. Missed opportunity

Warriors with a solid win against the kings, not getting carried away yet, Curry obviously great and then super performances by Looney and Mooney. Poole needs to up his game, we won’t stand a chance if he keeps this up, Klay pretty quite but hopefully saving it for later. Not getting carried away but it will add a bit of pressure to Kings, even if we aren’t the same team as before, we still have that spark at times
