Interesting that you said that because in this article that I was reading Linda Mellerick says the Camogie team should have went all out to beat Galway the week before their final. Then they would have played Tipperary in the final and she thinks we would beat them easier. So maybe it does pay off to think about who we want to play in the final and who would suit us better!

"Galway, like Cork, have injuries and were without key players and, already qualified, Cork gave their panel members a run. We were coming into the final with a better team ‘on paper’.

But, in hindsight, that was a mistake. Had Cork beaten Galway, they would have faced Tipperary in the final.

They would have beaten Tipp, of that I’m sure, and it would have been a league medal, important silverware, and a first win since 2018 in HQ."

What's the scenario now for Cork for Sam Maguire vs Tailteann?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

I think that would have required a series of unlikely results to put us in Tailteann like Tipp beating Kerry which didn't happen.

Today the Cork Minor Camogie team qualified for the All Ireland final beating Galway in the semi

    Cork 1-18 Galway 3-11 FT

You're almost safe, but if Offaly and Down both qualify for provincial finals, then yourselves and Kildare drop into the Tailteann, and if only one of the two qualify, it'd be Kildare eliminated first

‘They would have beaten Tipp, of that I’m sure, and it would have been a league medal, important silverware, and a first win since 2018 in HQ.’

She has some cheek saying things like that…

Similar comments made ahead of Sarsfields’ Munster Camogie Semi-Final against Scariff-Ogonnelloe. ‘I haven’t seen Scariff play but you’d imagine that the Cork champions would beat the Clare champions’

First of all with Sarsfields losing their county final and 2nd of all, Cork clubs haven’t done anything for years

    Kerry goal after 30 seconds

edit: and another one, 2-1 to 0-1 after 5 min

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

The Kerry free taker takes an age to kick the ball. Surely he cant be allowed to take that long every time.

We have missed 2 goal chances where we have missed the target completely. Very disappointing

Ref gave them a free out when it should have been a free in just there

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,549 ✭✭✭Seadin

We are seeing Kerry doing this to Cork in all levels year in an year out. No surprises really. Referee is letting Cork off with nothing.

This game is over already and its not even half time. Unless Cork get a few goals this is a write off.

O'Driscoll is the captain and has been beaten about 3 times on the turn already. Should be taken off

Are both terraces open on Sunday in the Pairc or only the Blackrock end

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,145 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Jesus if Cork football is in bad state now it looks like it aint getting better anytime soon on this basis. Brutal by u20s.

    Embarrassed for them

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Ref screwed us big time there. Could have been a penalty for Cork

Not sure what type of training Cork are doing, but there's absolutely no point in being able to run all day and all night if you cannot kick a ball over the ball from 30 -40 yards. Around 7 points down and not pushing up on their kickouts, I don't understand that tactic. Make them go long and compete for it, put their kickout under pressure. It's just too easy for them. Credit O'Connell for the turnover just before ht, that's the mentality needed.

Some awful kicking and decision making in that first half.

They really need to take on their men in the forward line and go for goals in the second half. They are better than that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Was saying the same about the kickouts too.

Only one point from play is terrible. 8 shots and only one point. If we actually took our chances it would be close

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

only Blackrock end on ticketmaster anyway. Dont think Waterford travel in big numbers, was only 1 terrace open in Thurles yesterday

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,599 ✭✭✭eigrod

That was a shocking half. As bad as anything Cork football have served up over the years. So frustrating. To cough up a goal from the throw in, then no. 4 selfishly kicks wide when a simple pass would’ve resulted in a goal, Kerry go down and score another goal without breaking sweat, 3 times they kicked in to the goalkeeper’s hands, numerous stupid fouls. Depressing & frustrating.

  • Registered Users Posts: 888 ✭✭✭skaface

Think that was the Gaa decision only to open one terrace yesterday for both sets of supporters yesterday, not sure about this weekend.. There are Plenty of Waterford supporters travelling this Sunday AFAIK

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,023 ✭✭✭lukin

Cork missed two open goals in the first half, Kerry put away the two goal chances they got.

That's where this game was won and lost.

    Simply awful.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,145 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

We should actually just give up playing football if that's best we have.

    Its beyond embarrassing now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,549 ✭✭✭Seadin

I just don't know how Cork football is always this way. Some nice footballers who are never coached properly it seems. We aren't winning nothing for long long time.

3 wins from 4 I think for them. A fine win away from home.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Supposed to be very close to playing. He is training away but the match might be too soon. Sounds like he may be sub or given a half type of thing.

    Limerick 1-14 Cork 0-20 FT

Minor game was very interesting. Both sides were very good. Cork were getting on top in the first half when Limerick got a goal and it drove them on for the half. Going in a point ahead

Second half Cork were much tighter tackling and Biggane, Lynch and Walsh were the standouts. Limerick missed about four frees in a row that would have kept it closer. Should really be getting them. But Cork were really tigerish in their tackling in the second half and were giving Limerick nothing easy. In the first half Limerick got numerous very easy points. Work rate was immense from Cork in the second half

Only disappointing thing is Cork picked up numerous injuries. Walsh seemed to be limpng throughout the second half too. Now straight into the Munster final!
