So Covid is supposed to have killed 7million people now. How many of them people would have died?

Many would have had underlying issues, but covid wasn't a very pleasant way to die. The second important issue at the time was, overloading of hospital systems. What happened in northern Italy frightened the life out of both politicians and the medics.

I recently lost a youngish relative to covid, so it hasn't totally gone away. You also have the unknown effects of long covid.

How the stats are compiled in different countries make it impossible to have accurate figures. Over one million died in the US if my memory is correct.

Some noted that Invermectim (a horse dewormer) mainly showed good results in impoversished areas, in impoverished populations were worm infectation was an issue, and this was the reason it seemed to work, it's didn't do anything for COVID, but improved the general health of the population and made them more resilient to infection. Giving VitD could fall into the same general effect.

All of them would have died, eventually.

I personally know two people who would not be dead were it not for COVID. One was elderly but in great health, the other was in their fifties with an underlying condition that hadn't caused them anyway issues to that point.

I know this isn't scientific but I have no doubt those two people at least would still be alive today we're it not for COVID.

I know hundreds more including myself who had the disease and didn't even know we had it to only for antigen tests.

I've no doubt based on personal experience that COVID killed killed people who would otherwise not have died at that time. Particularly the earlier strains of the disease pre vaccines and weakening strains.

You are in fact incorrect. As the OP postulates, some would still be walking around.

1) He's really asking is someone dying earlier worth it so others are not inconvenienced.

2) Which will then lead into what about deaths caused by the COVID. Which of course is already answered by 1)

Knowing life is short people should be living today not doom posting about 3 yrs ago..

Does this really matter? If COVID causes someone to died a few days/weeks/months earlier that they would have, it's still a tragedy for those whom have lost that time with loved ones.

Like a snooker ball rebound, change of people's behaviour could have a positive effect just as likely as a negative one. Hindsight is 20:20 vision as they say.
