Eligibility for upcoming 200 bonus payment

If someone was moved from the state pension less than a year ago when they became a carer and got that payment instead, will they qualify for the 200 bonus?

They have been paid the carers allowance for less than a year now but were receiving social welfare pension for the previous 4 years.

They were only moved off the pension because the carers allowance was more beneficial to them. Are they considered to be on social welfare for more than a year, as they actually are, or.not?

Was it ever suggested to that person that they could have continued getting the state pension they were getting and get 1/2 rate carers too? I’m intrigued now! How much pension were they getting, do you know?

It was very small (49, reduced payment due to other pension income) so even with the half rate carers it wouldn't have been anything like the full carers allowance and no part pension. It wasn't asked for but it clearly was better for them long term.

The thing is, are they now considered to be on sw for more than a year. If the previous time on pension is counted, they would qualify afaik.

Yes this person will qualify for the €200, they should receive tomorrow.

Just out of interest: Suppose a person gets a pro rata EU pension. 70% of the pension is Irish, 30% is from a foreign country. Will that person get the full 200 Euro bonus- or will that person get only 70% of the bonus?

What about those who do not get the full contributory pension- but only a certain part of it? Do they get the full bonus?

It's a full payment , no deduction it's all or nothing.

I never got this. I got the Christmas bonus as I was on a CE Scheme at the time. My CE scheme finished in March. I re-applied on the mywelfare website and my claim was approved.

I'm guessing as your CE scheme placement had ended at time eligibility was being assessed you lost out on this payment . You mentioned you applied for something on mywelfare, was that a Jobseekers payment as a CE Scheme is not processed on mywelfare. Assuming its a Jobseekers claim you applied for ,again as its a new claim you would not have been eligible. If your were on the CE scheme up to April you may have got the payment. In essence you were in limbo due to timing of eligibility assessment.
