Hopefully the end of the Bellingham circus. Once madrid or city were in for him hard to understand anyone who thought there was a chance he’d end up at Liverpool. He’d just have to have a look at this season for a swift no thanks. Trying to do his own work plus that of shot henderson and fabinho hardly appealing.

Was recruitment of salah, mane, Allison etc who were known to be good players but not superstars that built a winning team. It’s that type of profile needed now although a lot easier said than done. Recruitment didn’t miss for a long time. That level of success is not sustainable as arguably seen with recent signings.

Fabhino dropping between VVD and Konate with TAA and Tsimi coming narrow at the base of midfield?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭dogbert27

They could have kept Odegaard and saved themselves 120 mill!

Nunez seems to have lost his child mascot.

    Decent effort from Trent

So good to have Diaz back. It's the little moments but he just makes things happen.

Good to see the lads willing to run lately - makes a difference

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Nunez halfway into the shot decides to pass instead, forever caught in two minds

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Good defending from Konate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Pen

Good stuff. Nunez won that shall we say, but idiotic from Diop

    Emphatic finish from Mo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

not sure how much contact there was but only because Nunez jumps out of the way, Diop's leg was wild

    Ah it's definitely a penalty.

Was actually reading yesterday that Nunez is really struggling to pick up English and was having lots of difficulty communicating with the other players and Klopp.

I wonder if his English teacher the guy that used to post here years ago 🤔

Could be why he's not been playing as much recently now that we've lads back from injury.

TAA and Salah have been fantastic once again.

Some good defending from Konate and is Fab slowly regaining some form?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,103 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Yeah you can really see that Nunez is playing with no confidence. That example of the volley sitting up nicely, he would usually have shot there without thinking. And if he misses, he misses, I don't mind as it is worth taking it on.

For that penalty incident, he done really badly losing the ball, and too easily. But then he remembers what he is being told to do. Get up and work and press and it kicks in. He presses and wins a penalty. Results in Liverpool going 1-0.

Trent playing great and I think Fabinho & Jones are having good games too.

Nunez did well to win the pen and finished well by Salah.

Only 1 -0 but we have looked sharp in places - Fab seems to have a bit of energy in his legs and played his best 45 in quite a while.

Trent bossing it when in possession.

Trent is loving this role he's everywhere. Reminds me a bit of when Gerrard played right of midfield, had that free role between midfield and attack.

Really impressed with Jones again, just passing and moving not take the extra touch he always did.

Jesus that's the best excuse I've heard yet,he can't play football because he can't speak English

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    HT

Started well and had a few moments of intensity, but very much lacking in goalmouth action. Fulham had a couple moments themselves needing Alisson to step up.

Diaz getting involved sporadically, Trent popping up here and there. Jones in or around things as well. Itsssssssss okayyyyyyyy, but need to be smarter around the final third. Need a lot more from Nunez. Done well with the pen, profiting on sloppy defending, but overall play has been extremely lacking.

Feels like a game where we can step up if required, but I'd rather we avoid letting Fulham in with a chance, because we will switch off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I love watching Trent play this role, there's obviously flaws to it and a lot of that is the personnel needed to cover RB aren't really in the squad but as an isolated performance he's just been brilliant.

PenaltyPool are back and it’s great :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,392 ✭✭✭GiftofGab

Trent having a great game. This new role gets him on the ball a lot more.

Salah looking sharp and dangerous too.

Kostas pressing not up to it this game.

Nice to see Fab win some tackles again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I've really enjoyed our performance but wish Jota was playing.

That being said, Nunez did have to be applying the pressure in order to force the mistake. I'd be furious if that was given against us given Nunez was already falling but I'll take it.

    Fulham are plenty dangerous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

This is the best we have moved the ball and controlled the pace of play by a mile all season....now watch us fall apart from here on in!! 🙈🙈🙈

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Again. Well won in by Jones, but the final third play is lacking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Nunez fooling himself in the box

    Great ball from Trent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

The key pass in the final third has been off.

Why Bobby isn't getting game time in this team I just don't know,I'd have him on all day long instead of gakpo nunez or jota

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 677 ✭✭✭FernandoTorres

Nunez having a poor game. Very hard to see how he'll make it in that central role on the evidence to date.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,318 ✭✭✭ratracer

    Think he’s out injured??

Though he’s still be better than Nunez!! 🙄

    Great stuff from Alisson

We are so easy to get at

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Good man, you were absolutely slating Bobby as been done and finished not so long ago!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 249 ✭✭Tommysocks11

Nunez looks like a person who won a competition to play a game for Liverpool, hard to see how he will ever become formidable for us, he's too clumsy and zero ball control, think we were sold a pup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

    Fabinho’s been much better tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

One to forget Darwin, even with the assist.

Jota, Milner and Elliot on for Mo and Jones as well

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

He's past his best no doubt but I'd still have him on the field instead of nunez or gakpo

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

Even though our form has improved a lot we are still coughing up some ridiculous chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,726 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

True, but he has a free pass for this season all things being equal. I do have some concerns like most I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Comfortable second half up until last 5 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Gakpo has been very impressive lately so I definitely wouldn't have him on ahead of him...

5 wins on the bounce, over to you United and Newcastle, we're on the hunt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Was happy with that up until 85th minute. Subs had no impact, except for Elliott who did well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I was about to say, five wins in a row but I was most satisfied with the control in this one (not that we still didn't cough up a chance or two).

Such a shame it's all probably come too late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,592 ✭✭✭brevity

Thought Fulham played well for the most part. Surprised to hear they had lost most of their most recent games although I don't watch a lot of them to be fair.

Liverpool were kinda sloppy. Really bad decisions in the final third and some of the positional play was awful.

On to the next one I suppose...
