    Carty is unbelievably poor.

Off an attacking and dominant scrum in the ulster 22 a double dose of carthy has connacht defending a lineout just outside their own 22.

Connacht lucky there, that clear out should have been a pen.

Brace should have issued the yellow there for the backchat though, he's warned about multiple times.

Connacht 2 lucky there I’d say.

Connacht good value for the lead, but definitely left at least a try out there.

I think they'll regret that because theres no way Ulster will be as poor in the second half.

I bet after Brace chirping all first half to Ulster about how the next one is a yellow/stop the backchat, it'll be Connacht who get the first yellow. (Frank) Murphys Law.

Connacht deserve their lead, and it could and should have been more.

Ulster poor, cant get the ball moving, cant put phases together, very little territory and coughing up line breaks.

Long way to go in this yet.

Ulster are definitely rattled. Connacht not really allowing them into the game. You’d fear that Connacht have left at least 10 points behind them though. And Ulster will eventually get a purple patch.

Connacht should be 10-15 ahead. Ulster will eventually sort themselves out and win. Been very poor tonight though.

Very good half for us, but probably not far ahead enough considering our dominance in the collisions. Real breakout performance from SHL but the pack as a whole have been excellent. Jack hasn't been great unfortunately and the backline are a bit sloppy in terms of running lines and passing. The Tom Farrell non pass was unforgivable. Conor Oliver a very lucky boy, that was a nasty clear out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,481 ✭✭✭✭cson

Probably should have got yellow for that tbf.

Although I'd argue Cooney should have been in the bin for the swinging arm on O'Halloran too, so I'll call it even on that front.

    Bit of a chaotic game

I've always been a Balacoune skeptic but he's been impressive today.

Connacht should be 10 to 15 ahead. Playing well but some of the individual errors by certain players are unforgivable. Scrum is far superior, keep it in, and force Brace to give the penalty.

Surely Ulster can only get better in the second half?

Carthy is making mistakes but at least he is tryin to play.

Burns on the other hand is completely anonymous. How ulster have allowed him to get so many caps is a constant source of laughter and bewilderment for me.

    Mcloskey was offside surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,316 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Connacht really need to be converting these opportunities.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,481 ✭✭✭✭cson

Shouldn't be able to pull a 9s arm like that at the ruck.

  • Registered Users Posts: 435 ✭✭Cateym

Carty solid at the T but other than that ,very poor. Cannot understand what Ulster are at.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,481 ✭✭✭✭cson

Sign of a bad ref to be constantly getting in the way like Brace is tonight.

Hurley-Langton'a carry off the lineout was incredible. Blew through the Ulster backrow.

    Then Connacht butchered another chance.

    Connacht would break your heart

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,481 ✭✭✭✭cson

Criminal butchering of tries from Connacht this evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,413 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

If Connacht lose this they will be kicking themselves. They've been completely dominant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,631 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

And that was bundee who messed up the pass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,240 ✭✭✭crisco10

Connacht are pissing all over ulster at the breakdown

Connacht's breakdown work has been incredible.

But Ulster are playing into their hands with some pretty basic attacking play. That strike play from the lineout had one wrap around pass, a direct carry, ruck, straight carry and turnover. Nothing done to stress the defence.

This match has been awful, how are Ulster so poor?

I’ve had my fill of Dan McFarland.

I dont think Dan McFarland would survive a loss tonight....

His cards should have been marked after the shite he spoke following some of the losses during the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,316 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    That's bloody incredible from Hansen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,288 ✭✭✭MayoForSam

    Some turnover from Mack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,850 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

    Hansen! The world class defender!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,481 ✭✭✭✭cson

    Unreal turnover from Hansen.

If (when) Connacht don't win tonight it'll be down to some of the worst red zone execution I've ever seen. How many visits have we had inside the Ulster 10?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,873 ✭✭✭Redo91

    Unbelievable defensive work from Hansen!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,240 ✭✭✭crisco10

Hanson the one to stop balacoune then recycles around to make the turnover

Ah is that glorious failure I smell?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,850 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

It would be nice to see a bit of quality now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,413 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Carty surely only still on the field as Connacht don’t have a 10 on the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,240 ✭✭✭crisco10

My default position is that connact would be unlucky to lose, but how many chances can you miss and claim misfortune...?

Jordi Murphy plays rugby these days??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,316 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Connacht have done a genuinely good job at stopping the Ulster maul.
