Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Leaving my permanent Primary teaching post.

    Hi all,

    Can anyone tell me how leaving a permanent teaching post at primary level, will affect pension etc. I have over 20 years service, starting pre 2004.

    For example, are there any consequences (especially negative)? My intention would be to continue in a new school either permanently or just do casual subbing...

    Has anyone else done this?

    I've heard of people who have done this. It's grand as long as you start working again. If there's a 26 week break you'll be put on the new pension scheme (where you're unemployed rather than on a career break, secondment etc). Casual subbing would sort that though. I suppose for pension it's being added on a pro rata basis? I'd advise proper financial advice for that.

    Yes definitely get advice from a union or pension provider that specialises in education (Like PSRA or Cornmarket... or both!).

    Bring kicked into a new pension scheme will cost you
