    Goal from cork.

Cork were well on top in the first half working it through the lines. Goals keeping limerick in it.Throw the whole lot out the window at half time and instead go long time and again as well as taking pot shots from distance. Mad stuff

Great credit to Cork - going around 7 down not too long ago, Hoggie has brought it back to a point.

Clare v Limerick Munster final. Tipp sneak through in 3rd. Cork out.

Limerick very lucky to scrape that win. Take away that conned penalty and they'd have lost.

Edit: Tipperary! Fúkcín hell, huh? Pulled a bit of a Borrusia Dortmund. Not even in the Munster final.

Thought Limerick well deserved the win. That scrappy Horgan goal brought them back from being 6 points down and looking bet gave them bit of life but Limerick definately the better team imo. Cork now 18 years without a senior All Ireland the famine goes on for them. Limerick still on course for 4 in a row.

You couldn't really ask for more drama on the final day of the round robin fixtures... between qualifying for a provincial final, staying in the championship, and relegation to the JMcD cup

Plus the free before half time for the pick off the ground that wasn't.

Although it's hard to feel sorry for any team that would field lehane. Nothing against the guy but how many times does he have to flop on the big day

I thought also that Byrnes struck the penalty from inside the 20m line

    Beating ourselves again.

has to be said though, how the **** was that a penalty

Clare and Limerick will knock 7 shades out of each other in the final. 3rd place may have suited them better.

You have to hand it to them, great champions. If the go on to win the AI it might be harder than the 4 since 2018 and the greatest achievement. Hegarty coming back to form.

Shane Kingston on too long. He had a great chance of a run on goal. Several times failed to rise it or control it.

Liam Cahill. Maybe overrated. Won underage with Tipp but hasn't won anything of note at Senior.

So is it Tipp v Offaly now and Carlow v Dublin in next round? Tipp were so close to going out. One more Cork score and they were out.

I think Cork were hard done by today. Limerick were lucky to have 15 on the field. Hayes dirty swipe was dangerous and obviously designed to stop the attacking player. Byrnes frontal charge into the face was borderline as well. Its a reoccurring theme of Limerick players lining lads up and making contact with the head. Throw the penalty that wasn't on top and Cork got no rub at all today.

Limerick have the players for the big day but any team facing them should do their homework on Gillane. He's a great player but half the ball he wins is through fouling, can't seem to keep his left hand to himself.

Thrilling game of hurling, Cork gave it their all but were unfortunate.

The penalty was harsh as was the free against Cahalane for picking the ball off the ground, effectively 4 points to Limerick.

4 minutes injury time was laughable too considering all the subs and stoppages.

If Cork played like that last week in Ennis they would have won comfortably and be in the Munster final, they saved their best till last.

Limerick were disciplined in the second half which shows they dont need to resort to the dirty play that led to 3 bookings in the first half.

Jaysus Byrnes lighten up, terrible chip on the shoulder interview. Ye were questioned as not playing great.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,584 ✭✭✭YabaDabaDooley

Hayes yellow was correct call for me. Same with Byrnes. I didnt see need for a red today. Limerick deserved the win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,193 ✭✭✭PressRun

They foul so often that it seems like it's hard for refs to even keep up, like so much of the tackling is just completely wild stuff. But I thought that penalty call was outrageous - he literally gave a free out for the same thing minutes earlier. I knew straight away from the way Gillane was gesturing to the ref that it was a con.

If Cork, Waterford, Wexford etc were still left in the championship we wouldn't have seen games like we seen as there would be nothing to play for!

To try and develop hurling the top second tier teams have to be given a chance to improve. Like Laois beating Dublin, who beat Galway in 2019.

The Penalty( that was not a penalty) gave Limerick a 6 point lead stage crucial stage in the match. It's was the event that decided the game. It was an incorrect call.

I cannot understand how two umpires, a ref and two sideline official's cannot get calls right.

Did Tipp's massive effort last week v Limerick lead to a dip in form today a gainst a rested Waterford a bit like Clare last year after the Munster final? It was earmarked by some thhat it was a possibility today and it came to pass. Still though Tipp will be so relieved to get through and they should account for Offaly and then face the Leinster runners up.

The ref literally booked him minutes before for the same thing. Shocking decision. And Gillane is notorious for doing that anyway.
