    Hey all,

I am looking forward to getting into PC gaming again after years of being on Playstation and Xbox.

Looking for some suggestions on the best set up possible for a budget of about €2500 to include a 28 / 32 in 4K monitor.

Heavy gaming, using PS remote, XBOX game pass, Diablo 4, Destiny 2, Jedi etc.

Any help would be great. I have a little experience in PCs but the last one I built ended up dying.

Stuff that I have lying around from the last build that may be off use in the upcoming build

    Case - Z9 https://www.zalman.com/EN/Product/ProductDetail.do?pageIndex=1&pageSize=10&productSeq=166&searchCategory1=5&searchCategory2=-99&searchCategory3=-99&searchKey=&searchWord=&active=pro_specTab#pro_detail_tab

Windows 7 home premium - I know. every little counts tho right?

Samsung 840EVO 120 GB SSD (brand new in box, may be useful for the OS?)

WD Blue 1 TB 3.5inch SATA (7200 rpm, nearly 10 years old not even sure if the BIOS will talk to it)

    LG DVD drive

I understand that the old processor (AMD FX6100) and graphics card (GeForce GTX550ti) are obsolete but is there anything I can do with them?

You can sell the GTX 550 Ti to CEX for the price of a can 😅

From what I've read, AMD cards have driver issues with Destiny 2 right now.

There is enough budget to upgrade the CPU to AMD Ryzen 7600 + AM5 motherboard/DDR5. But 5800x3D is immense for multiplayer games.

Thanks for all of this. I take it the hard drives and the dvd drive is junk at this stage then? Any chance I can swap them for a bag of magic beans ?

Aye, a 10yo hard drive is too slow for Windows and just a failure waiting to happen.

No games really sell on DVD anymore, most of the boxed copies just have a download code and MAYBE an outdated install disc that's missing 20-40Gb of data.

As for Windows, I generally just Google for cheap activation keys for $2-5. Haven't had an issue yet.

alternative gpu option, around 14%better than a 4070 but probably needs an 850w psu

800€, HOT: more chance of chip failure, FSR2 vs DLSS3

The 6950xt? It's 630 delivered. Not sure on heat but the 6950xt was a 3090ti competitor/class so yes it would use more power than a 4070 (although that xfx cooler might actually keep the 6950 quite cool for all I know).

Certainly haven't heard of many 6950xt failures, and considering the 4070 was only just released we don't know it's reliability.
