Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liking the physicality of this Inter team.

City are at least going to have to work for this more than usual.

City can't string a pass together at all. Final nerves again I'd say. This may be their last chance to win this thing

Better opening 20 mins than the West Ham game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

    decent start for inter

Loving the pressure and aggression of Inter.

Standing on an ankle is nothing major according to Ronnie 🤣

  • Site Banned Posts: 20,685 ✭✭✭✭Weepsie

That's a bad miss by the ref. No intent, but he's clearly nowhere near the ball and clearly gets the player with full studs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,288 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Saying it all week don't sleep on inter. Inter spot on so far pressing and slowing the game down. This is the premier competition, bad teams don't get to the final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Same from Steve McManaman on BT "There is nothing wrong with him" and only a slight change of tune when he saw the replay.

If they don’t win it this year they’ll still be there or thereabouts next year, and the year after, and the year after etc etc. they’ve too many advantages not to be.

Ederson is gonna cost city tonight, far too casual a number of times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,123 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

What a player really needs when the nerves hit is a clown like Pep scream and roaring and throwing his hands up at every little thing that goes wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,170 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That was a great chance for Barella to lob Ederson who was all at sea. Really poor effort though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

    what a save from onan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,398 ✭✭✭McGrath5

Did City forget they have to win a football match and are not here to only lift the European cup?

Inter coughing up a few chances. Decent from them so far though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,123 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

    Big moment coming up here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,170 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

De Bruyne is gone it seems. Done his hamstring. The board was out, yet he's playing on for now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭UsBus

    De bruynes gone I reckon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,123 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

It hurts to say it but they are giving City a game that AC just wouldn't have.

Pep certainly looks like he’s feeling the pressure. What’s the odds on him getting a yellow card?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭tombliboo83

I feel like Lukaku could have a serious part to play later on if inter can keep k lol even up to 75 minutes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭omega man

KdB is done. Awful bad luck for him personally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Normally as the opposition you'd be positive about that, but then you see Foden coming on.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,246 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

De Bruyne going off - is it beginning to all go wrong for City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

De Bruyne lost his bottle perhaps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,023 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

What a player to be able to bring on in Foden though.

wonder will Foden take his spot, or go left with Graelish coming inside. Or maybe Foden goes right with Silva coming more central.

<edit> looks like Foden’s staying central for now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,123 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

This change will feed into the already fragile mindset of City.

Foden is pure class though. Don't know how he sits on the bench and even more for England.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭omega man

City would be in trouble if they were playing a better team tonight. Inter are a bit limited although working hard.

Dumfries wasted Inters best chance there, they need to be much more clinical in that situation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,634 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Is it luck or something else, pressure for instance?

He's had bad luck in 2 Euro finals, and at World cups too, admittibly the lady ECL final was a bang on the head.. Hrs not done well in these world level games. We saw it yesterday with the tennis player admitting the pressure of Novak in the French open caused his legs to cramp up/shut down.... Is this something similar with K DeB?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

One thing’s for certain, Inter are a very high level team based on this first half. Not many gave the credit they were due but to nullify this City team the way they’ve done is nothing short of superb.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

That’s what I’m thinking too. For every time he’s been brilliant in a big game, there’s another one where he’s been invisible or injured.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,109 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Fragile mindset? They haven't lost a game in 4 months and they went on a sensational winning streak to claw back a big lead which Arsenal held, and beat two of the biggest European teams ever on the way to the CL final.

I seriously don't understand how you can claim they are mentally fragile. If anything they're robotic in how they grind out result after result against big opposition at vital times.

I'm glad Grealish isn't Irish. Couldn't put up with that whiney fekin face.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭tombliboo83

    Top drawer reffing so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Why is that? Are they going to start abiding by the financial fair play rules starting in the morning?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭jebidiah

Really impressed with Inter. Hope they can keep it up. Think Barella and Dumfries need to work a bit better together. Seems to be a bit of frustration between the two.

What an awful 1st half of football

BT made the point in the build-up that Inter are playing the same system as Brentford (who beat City twice this season).

I don't know if that is their normal system, but they are doing quite well.

There are quite a few frustrated City players out there at the moment. Some are very quiet too.

Inter just don't seem to have it up front, dare i say Lukaku for Dzeko would change that if it reached the final third of the game still 0-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Diego Milito somehow looks even more like Stallone than the man himself.

    Dreadful game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭mobydopy

Inter have done very well but they look toothless up front.

Lukaku could be the answer as long as the score stays nil nil till he comes on.

    Agreed. Turgid.

City's quality will eventually shine through though.

    Glazers Out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,123 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

As good a half as inter could have dreamed of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,123 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Their fragile mindset tonight. Which is is coming down from the manager.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,194 ✭✭✭McFly85

Tight enough game, wouldn’t be surprised to see this one go past the 90.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭UsBus

I just think it's not that easy to get to the final of this and win it. They've shown previous form in not being able to get over the line. Real Madrid will be at it next year no doubt, Bayern, Barca and the Italians will all be improving. There's no guarantee you get this close every year.
