Kids 12v rideon tractor problem

Hi there, the accelerator switch (6 pin) on my sons Kingdom 12v electric rideon tractor gave up on us, I can see replacement ones online so that's where I'll be purchasing a new one.

My question is, there's 6 pins on the switch but only 3 wires going to the switch and I foolishly have forgotten which way they are to be connected, there's black, green and yellow, I've tried looking for a wiring diagram online but had no luck.

Any info appreciated and thanks

Middle one is probably the common positive . Other two are the switched Positive and controls direction

have you a multi meter?

Yes I have a multimeter, is there a way to identify which is which by using the multimeter, all I've been using it for is continuity tests and battery voltage/charge

Put one end on the negative of the battery , and then measure each wire to see what the voltage is.

of only one has voltage that’ll more than likely be the centre. Touch it off another one should go forward or reverse

So it's been a while and just hadn't time until now to get back to this repair job, turns out that one of the motors has died so I will need to purchase a replacement, I'm guessing that it's probably best practice to replace as a pair for the axle, although it's worth noting that the good motor looks much fresher than the broken one so perhaps it was replaced before

Here's what I found online when looking to make a purchase, is this a reputable place to buy from?

I was also wondering if I were to purchase a pair of new motors could I get a "faster" pair to increase the tractors speed, even just slightly?

Hi! A 35,000 RPM motor doesn't sound like it belongs in a kids tractor? Is that whole gearbox and motor a valid part replacement for the failed unit? Had you planned on fitting the whole gearbox and motor, or just the motor alone?

If the assembly fits then it should "work", except that the battery may then be insufficient as the motorbike motor may be a higher current than the original tractor motors and you may have some problems with lower power from the battery. All hard to know!

CMJ 550 C is what's printed on the old motors and I believe that's what this is but yes one would need to be careful

If it looks like the original part and you're happy to try it, then do! I know my son had one of those tractors years ago and it was unbearably slow. Just bear in mind that the kids will be using it out of sight and the risks increase with speed. 👍️
