Has anyone had a medical for clerical officer. What does it involve? I have passed my interview. I have asthma and also my physical fitness isn't great. I am wondering if both of these will go against me.

Were you told you'd have to take one? I've never heard of anyone having to take a medical for the role

No but I automatically assumed I would have to take one. I'm sure I saw it mentioned on the council website but maybe I'm incorrect.

Maybe a medical for a specialised CO but not in general

I know I went for CO with county council and medical was compulsory. I nearly failed on my hearing. Didnt take the job in the end

Thank you. I was sure I'd seen something about a medical. What did the medical involve? I'm asthmatic so am worried I will fail based on that...

Yea I done a medical for the council. You have to pay for it and they reimburse you. There's a urine test some general physical tests and eye sight and a hearing test. I don't see you failing because of asthma.

    It's nothing too strenuous.

As above, checked blood pressure, chest/heart, hearing test, few medical questions etc. Wasnt required when I joined civil service

Thanks everyone. It sounds straight forwar. I haven't ever done a medical for previous jobs so wasn't sure what it involved. I'd visions of having to run on a treadmill or something 🙈

Has anybody experienced getting a police report from Germany? I'm non German but worked there for a year. The embassy's website is really hurting my head.

Copy pasting below some of the part of the application form that I'm unsure of. Not sure which one I need, and if it's the second option would the email I received requesting police clearance suffice?

    Certificate of good conduct

    Extended certificate of good conduct

(Written confirmation that the conditions for application for an extended certificate of good conduct are fulfilled must be supplied).
