All ulster players have been reallocated from Malone and Banbridge, the players and ulsters preferred option is for them to be playing at a higher level than 2A.

Although the actions by a few members were unfortunate. Personally the flares and seats breaking were mostly just overzealous fans who added to the atmosphere on the day but the actions of the 1/2 adult members are unacceptable. However some comments on the Independent article were quite disgraceful. A member of another club calling school kids C**ts and mocking members of the wider Terenure community is as disgraceful.

Terenures first game is Ballynahinch so I believe that is going to be players and staff only.

I was at the game and have to say that I felt there was a nasty undercurrent in the atmosphere. Prior to the game I witnessed a middle aged woman (wearing her Clontarf colours) standing outside the stadium on her own just as a sea of Terenure players marched past (probably the exodus from the Lansdowne Hotel). As they passed her by, a large number of them (not children) gave her ‘unfriendly’ hand gestures and shouted vulgar anti-Clontarf comments at her. This was totally unprovoked and very unpleasant and intimidating to watch.

I was also disgusted when, before the game kicked off, and as both teams lined up for a minutes silence as a mark of respect for a deceased Terenure club member, a Terenure fan launched a firework onto the pitch in the direction of the Clontarf players. Both teams were observing the minutes silence out of respect for Terenure. It’s a pity that the Terenure fan who launched the firework couldn’t have shown the same respect.
